The class system is incredibly unpopular, I think the devs just have to realize their player counts going to take a serious hit when mods come outYes because replying to a dev who has nothing to do with the class system is really going to make MP devs who work on the class system want to reply to you and give you explanation/elaboration on their thoughts.
Bro the time for me to be sympathetic towards devs after telling them for 6-7 months in the beta, that the class system was a bad idea has passed.Yes because replying to a dev who has nothing to do with the class system is really going to make MP devs who work on the class system want to reply to you and give you explanation/elaboration on their thoughts.
I completely get that and agree. I don’t like the class system either and wish they’d remove it too. My point was that comments like Kylbee’s aren’t going to get a response, especially when you ask a dev who has nothing to do with the class system. I’m sure it just pisses them off. If people were asking me about accounting and my job had nothing to do with accounting, I’d be pissed off and less inclined to read any of what said individuals are saying or writing. The class system is incredibly unpopular, I think the devs just have to realize their player counts going to take a serious hit when mods come out
You don’t have to be sympathetic, but you are ruining the discourse for those who are critical of the game and want to see the devs reply more and be more forthcoming with communication. I agree that the class system is terrible. I think if the MP devs are going to go with it they need to demarcate the lines between the classes to encourage competitive/coordinated play. All I’m saying is that you aren’t doing the rest of us who want to hear from the devs any favours.Bro the time for me to be sympathetic towards devs after telling them for 6-7 months in the beta, that the class system was a bad idea has passed.
also i don't think they realize that refusing to make changes will only fragment their core playerbase into groups of people who will only play X mod (e.g., c-rpg)
the game didnt even release yet calling it a fail might be a bit too early. The early access release was succesful aswell, you seem to forget that SP is the main selling point of the game.they'll never get rid of the class system. consider their motivations:
1. they've been pretty explicit about wanting bannerlord to be an e-sport and a class system is much easier to balance than an item system. also easier to understand for casual viewers. think "player X is going knight this round" vs. "player X is running a sugarloaf helm with studded leather over mail and a knightly greatsword". of course it's stupid to think that either of those facts make a difference in popularity especially considering how complex (and meta-driven) DOTA and league are, but that's what we're dealing with.
2. they've also admitted targeting consoles. anyone who's ever played call of duty will understand the class system and perks from the get go and it's easier to manage with a controller than an item system. this is also why skirmish is the "flagship" mode - jump in, play 10 minutes, rinse repeat. my pet theory is that development took so long because halfway through they gave up on getting it on current-gen consoles, scrapped everything, and started aiming to be a release title on the next-gen.
basically, they're making the classic mistake of ignoring their core players to chase fortnite/cod/CSGO but they're hardly the first developers to fall into that trap. except, there isn't a big reservoir of directional swordfighting genre fans for them to tap into like those games can so it will never work. anyone who likes this kind of game enough to get into it was already into warband and how many warband tournaments have you seen on twitch?

bruh give me some time to edit my stuffIt's been a failure 9 months ago.
Just because the SP is the main selling point doesn't mean you should just ignore the MP community.
Its ever successful because of warband. It's already more successful than Warband ever was, judging by steamdb owners count.
Nah I think it's also marketing, they've put a lot of effort into it this time. Its ever successful because of warband.
They could have added both. Counter Strike was competitive. No class system.they'll never get rid of the class system. consider their motivations:

You mean TDM servers labelled as Duel*Please look at the thread I linked earlier in this thread. It is really easy to access, just a matter of viewing the thread and getting the password from Callum's post.
