Bump because the pubs have even caught on and a soloqueue skirmish experience against Khuzaits typically consists of a team entirely composed of Khans Guard and Horse Archers.

Looking at the top of the screen and seeing 6 Bow and Arrow icons draped overtop of everyones profile pictures is demoralizing because you know that even if you win you will absolutely not have any fun that match.
 
I personally feel like the factions are balanced in way too knee jerk of a manner! If they’re supposed to be bad at something it’s completely worthless, if it’s supposed to be a faction strength they dominate completely. All that ends up happening is empire seems the best being the “all-rounder”
 
With horse archer being fixed (thank god) and no longer being broken good. Khuzait has lost its singular advantage over other factions and more than ever needs a complete rework.
 
I am bumping this thread because it has been 4 months and nothing related to Khuzait balance has been meaningfully addressed other than a Horse Archer nerf. The only change to the weakest faction has been a nerf.

not to mention next update has the khuzait inf getting nerfed for some reason.
 
The same thing occurred in captain, players shifted their strategies, if you can play kz then you win, if you play them like vlandia or another faction you will lose pretty badly and fairly often

Could a shift in player strategy be enough to change this on skirmish. Or is the mode too simple at its essence to for a strategy change to be effective?

Right now the competitive game (at least in EU) is played with class limits in skirmish(I don't know why the captain mode hasn't done this to revive the mode a little by limiting shock inf). 2 archers and 2 cavalry max. This obviously favours a heavy infantry focus which is what a lot of people play this game for: melee combat. Khuzait however completely lacks 3 things: A proper light infantry class, a shock infantry class, and their one playable infantry class is less heavy infantry and more medium infantry, and they can't even triple spawn it anymore. Understandably, it would be super frustrating to fight against 6 horse archers without class limits, and would probably just end up with the opposite problem, instead of Khuzait being an automatic lose it would be practically an automatic win.

Ban khuzaits from MP.

When you have players knowingly putting themselves at a disadvantage just to feel good about playing the game, you know there is something wrong with the balance of the faction.

Funny how u kinda just laid out how to fix khuzait and everything has been done to ruin the faction further smh...

Not blaming devs or anything but more like saying COME ON YO!

As long as horse archer remains the same with the horrendous accuracy and spear infantry remains with two spawns instead of three Khuzait will continue to be the worst faction in the MP though the cavalry changes in 1.5.5 might put them in the same place as Sturgia(Aserai is better than Sturgia atm imo but thats because the camel and triple spawn infantry and Sturgia infantry is really underperforming) or maybe even above them because Khuzait has decent archers, we've yet to see.

Spear Infantry is still slower than it should be but isnt hilariously slow anymore (crab dance)

As Hooni said, they still will continue to be bad as long as Spear inf is a 2 spawn unit and *gestures vaguely at horse archer* Lancer being the worst of the heavy cav doesnt help either.

Edit: Correction. The Eastern lance got a massive range buff which I did not originally see in the patch notes. I highlighted this specifically as something that was needed in the thread and I am extremely glad a change was made. This is massive for the class and means Lancer can be competitive in Cav vs Cav.

As I mentioned earlier on the Spear Infantry thread, I personally suggested that Eastern Spears should be swingable like a low damage blunt weapon, similarly to how spears functioned in Warband. Granted, such attacks would probably be worse than an archer's mace but should improve the spearman's ability to duel in large open areas.
