Obligatory intro, great work on your early access release Taleworlds, I'm loving the game and it's quite clearly a rock solid foundation for you to build on over the EA term.
With that said, I also LOVE the captains mode in multiplayer. It's a very refreshing take on Mount and Blade and it's a damn lot of fun to get stuck into a large mount and blade battle in general, but it's even better with human minds controlling their units and formations. Makes them so much more enjoyable to win (or even be destroyed if the battle was good!)
I'd like to throw out some suggestions/wants/Feedback with this in mind.
- I'm a fan of the "control the points" mode, but I'd love to see some Captains Mode Deathmatch added too, where the goal is simply to annihilate your opponents.
- Maps are fantastic, a great blend and mix of terrains which suit all the different unit types, I'm not quite certain they are all balanced in terms of starting locations/control points. It feels that some(particularly the darker castle map) of the maps are tilted in favour of one side, as in they reach the "best" hold points on the map before the other team does. With that said, in line with the above desire to have a deathmatch captains mode, I'd like to see some more open maps too, not saying no terrain at all, but perhaps abit more plains to facilitate a battle mode.
- Rematch Option - If you get partnered right now with a less than able or newer player, you will know about it in the battle. There's not much you can do about that really. But when you do get into a really close captains game (where you are both on 2-2 for example), it would be very nice to have a "rematch" option once the outcome has been decided. A good balanced fight between players is always hard to find, so when one comes around we really need the ability for all players to have a vote for a rematch. This can be applied also to skirmish mode.
- Second stage to warmup phase. After all players have joined server/Warmup mode. On the unit select screen, it would be very nice to have a map of the battle, and allow the players to click on the map to indicate which point they will attack, the unit they selected to player will appear on the map, giving other players an idea of what the hell is going to happen. This would add a very minor feature but I can't stress enough how important it is to offer all of us completely random players even more tools to help us communicate and worth together as a team. Captains mode really needs this, as it feels a lot more strategy orientated. The unit select screen would also go on for an additional 10-15 seconds, allowing people time to prepare their locations and communicate.
