Hey all,

I love the multiplayer in these games. But huge ass polearms that instant-gib anything they touch and getting turned into a pin-cushion by archers is almost the only thing I see in multiplayer. Those things were popular in warband as well mind you but not the scope that I see it bannerlord. And honestly I dont blame them, infact ive joined them...

You often need like 3 or 4 good hits to fell someone with a 1 one handed weapon and if they always only need 1; thats a huge uphill battle. It almost looks like armor isent doing anything at all infact. On the other side of the spectrum most of those people with those polearms tend to not have shields to protect against ranged attacks so archers are very popular. Infact sometimes putting up a shield is infact a liability as you suddenly seem to draw alot more attention to yourself.

I do fear thats its all abit to much and that the weapon balance is completly fubar'ed. Am I the only one who is seeing this?

History was 50% polearm and 50% ranged, too. But I'll admit, historical accuracy isn't necessarily the best thing for competitive multiplayer.

Not really no, don't let youtube historians convince you otherwise. Swords and axes were used quite extensively too, other weapons still found their way in, if not as much as polearms and swords.

Well, okay, I was being a little broad stroke. But they were still the two most prominent weapons for most of history.

The thing about 2H is that if you've got unlimited lives, why not just run in swinging wildly? What would be the penalty? It's been the thing for years in siege, TDM and DM to take the biggest strongest thing and swing it crazily at the enemy. Which then leads to people taking ranged to shoot the fairly easy targets. It still happened in public battle, but the one life thing made players more cautious, and they took shields generally.

one handed sword swing speed is too slow for one, if you block a 2H weapon and pin it to the enemy you should be able to perform multiple stabs and he should have a hard time swinging back without dying from a stab wound in the neck...

I'm one hand and shield the majority of the time out of necessity to protect from arrows and polearms.
