Just today, my mouse has started to act up with the right click. It takes me a couple of clicks for the computer to realize I'm clicking the darn thing. The mouse is wireless, so I started by re-connecting it, resetting the reciever that's making the computer realize what I'm doing with the mouse and keyboard, re-booted the computer, cleaned the mouse on the outside and inside, and so far it still is having this problom which really bugs me. Any suggestions?\

EDIT:Everything BUT the right clicker works fine.

Buy a wired mouse with infrared scannie thingie.

Wireless mice are teh suck.

Well, I need help with fixing the mouse, because right now buying a new one isn't a priority compared to having food and electricity and water.

I've cleaned it inside and out, nothing should be in their that's affecting it. Ill take another check in case, but....

This is really pissing me off, It's not the Internet or anything, it's even like this on the desktop so I know it's the mouse.

it could just be that the button is worn out  :|

microswitches only have so many clicks in them, usually enough for the lifetime of whatever they are put in, but occasionally one slips through quality control that is sub standard.

and you are just unlucky enough to have bought that one  :|

dismantle the mouse and check for cracks in the wires and damage to the pressure pad.

Also if your wireless mouse has a reciever attached to your computer, id also recommend giving that a good once over and cleaning out the slot it is plugged into.

If none of these are the problem/ help, then its probably damage to the chip in which case, its only good for scrap metal now.

I had a similar problem with my mouse's left mouse button, but I just repeatedly slammed the ****er and that fixed it. That usually does work if it sticks (Same with keys on your keyboard) but if its something else (connection, some electrical thingy, etc) then I dunno.

Same with the left click button here, usually worse in games. Fallout doesn't seem to like recognizing mouseclicks easily.

Anyway I suppose it's to be expected, I click the **** out of that mouse. Although my first mouse lasted much longer.

Edit: That's right. I'm only on my second mouse in my gaming career. Suck it.

I'm on my 3rd, and my first was a default 2-button Dell mouse so I don't even know if that counts. If I had money, I'd go and buy the G500 to replace my G5.

Check whether it's still in warranty. If so, you should be able to get it fixed/replaced for free. If not, sounds like you're out of luck.

Both have been generic two-button ones. Current is a Philips. I'd buy a new one but I can't be arsed.

I don't think it could be in warranty after around 5-6 years?
I found out that I have a old mouse thats wired and has that ball on it, but when I connected it to the right slot (Double and Tripled checked, even the light is on on it) for some reason it isn't working. Do I have to make the computer adjust somewhere to realize that I have a new mouse plugged in?

If it's that old, then you have to pretty much expect it to fail.

Is the old mouse USB or PS2? If it's PS2, you'll need to restart your computer for it to be detected.

I think it's PS2, but I'm sure as hell its not USB. I restarted the computer before posting that, just to make sure, and still when I move the mouse nothing happens on screen.

Apparently it has something to do with the wireless mouse. I waited for about an hour and then replugged in the older mouse, works fine now. Locking thread.

If it's not USB, it's 99.9% definitely PS2, and those tend not to work from hot-plugging so that you need to restart your computer to have it detected. Old non plug-and-play technology and all that.

For reference, PS2:
