Mounted crossbows/ deeper unit development.

I like being able to use the crossbow, but why not add in a mounted version one, meaning, one that can be reloaded while on horseback, In the middle ages that's exactly what the Italians did, they made standard crossbows smaller, so that they could be realoaded easily while on horseback.

This could easily be implemented in M&B also, just make the regular crossbow smaller, and weaker, maybe doing about 30-35 damage, while adding in the abilty to reload while mounted on horseback. It would be an easy weapon to get started with, but not as effective later since crossbows don't have a "draw" skill to add to damage.

What do you guys think?

Another thing I would personally like, is better unit development... or slighty better. Primarily for mounted archery, since this seems to be the only thing left out. Now the Vae armies have horsemen who sometimes have bows but, what I would like to see is a unit that uses bows as a primary weapon, kindda like the Keragit (sp?) riders, only weaker ofcourse. So maybe if possible make another branch of development, only instead of going to lets say horseman to mounted archer and then ofcourse to mounted marksman

This could aslo be used for the Swadians if the mounted crossbow idea was used

Mounted sharpshooters seems mighty delicious.

Mounted archers are a good idea, but the thing about the crossbow has been brought up in a previous post. Alot of people said that it would defeat the purpose of the bow, but i disagree. Bows are alot better later in the game because of that skill, so this would at least help to balance the crossbow a bit better.

Gross.

I don't see why it would be so bad with the reload time on it. You're better of throwing rocks with power throw as far as I can see.

Yeah, I don't think it would defeat the purpose of bows at all, since bows are faster, more ammo, and would do more damage later on. Mounted crossbows would really only have one advantage, accuracy. Which in comparison to the 3 advantages of bows, would even out.

It would come down to the whole essence of combat in general, the weapon is only as good as it's user.
