1. What is Mount&Musket - Battalion?

Mount&Musket - Battalion, commonly abbreviated to Mount&Musket or MM is a modification for Mount&Blade Warband. It is currently developed only for Multiplayer, but we hope to venture into developing a single-player mode.

2. What is the time phrase of this mod?

The mod is set between around 1790 and 1815, hence the weird combination of uniforms. As this mod is merely semi-historical, we chose to give each faction easily noticeable or recognized uniforms - it won't be hard to realize what type of troop you are facing once you familiarize yourself with the uniforms.

3. What game modes are there?

Currently, the only game modes properly implemented are the standard M&B Warband Multiplayer modes. The community has set up an unofficial mode, named "line battle", after the popular unofficial game mode in The BattleGrounds 2, a Source Engine Mod. We hope to develop game modes further.

4. What is a line battle?

A line battle is a mode where both sides, essentially, line up and shoot at each other, like in the Napoleonic Wars. There are Line Battle events of varying success set up every Sunday; they normally begin at around 7-8 PM GMT or BST. Unofficial line battles have been known to happen. All line battles are subject to the Line Battle Rules, as seen in the Rule Book. (Found here)

5. Why isn't this faction in?

Mount&Musket was developed from an add-on pack for Age of Blackpowder, which gave extra units and retextures to the various factions (Great Britain, French Empire, Russian Empire, Austrian Empire, Kingdom of Sweden) as well as two mini-factions (Prussia and the Duchy of Warsaw). Therefore, the factions in MM are those, because we could reuse those textures and items upon receiving permission from the creators. Spain was included as it was deemed that we did not have enough variety in uniform. We are currently developing Denmark-Norway and Portugal for the next release, and after that we aim to do the German States. The chance of the inclusion of a faction is dependent upon the amount of clear sources, the importance of that faction and whether the team wants to do it.

6. I don't understand what these units are? Help!

Generally, the troop selection is arranged in this order:

Light Infantry and Militia
Line Infantry
Riflemen/Jaegers
Grenadiers
Hussars
Uhlans/Lancers
Dragoons
Cuirassiers/Heavy Cavalry

Each faction has a unique roster, but most factions have the essentials: Light and Line Infantry, Hussars, Dragoons and Heavy Cavalry. The only exception would be the Duchy of Warsaw, which relies heavily upon its Polish Lancers. Normally, the name itself hints at the role of the troop, and you can always ask the community.

7. Why do the textures look rubbish?

They were placeholders done in GIMP with a dodgy DDS converter. Brego has the job of improving the textures. Examples of this are the Line Infantry of most factions, a few Riflemen/Jaeger units and some cavalry units.

A/N: The topic will be updated when more questions are asked more regularly.

8. Is *insert MM version here* compatible with the latest update(s)?

When it's updated, we'll announce it.

9. What factions are currently planned?

10. CAN IZ HAS JAPAN IN GAME MOD KWAII DESU DESU <333333????////

No.

11. Is this mod both single player and multiplayer?

No. We are currently multiplayer-only, though a single player port is an idea we've tossed around.
