Mount & Blade Warband - Requesting an application to run it.

Hi,

I have a problem, I just dloaded Warband, since i got the email about being in.
Yet ive dloaded the game, but when i double click on it, and try to install it, it asks me to find an application to run it?

Did this happen to any of you ?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Now apon getting this window (Asking to use an application to run it) I double click on ''File'' and it closes the window, but then nothing happens... any ideas ?

are you sure you downloaded the full installer, not just the .613 patch?

Totally bugged i guess...

I'll try and redownload it off the site, see if that helps.

I actually went to the download folder, and I tried to open it from there, every time I clicked on it, or tried to run as administrator, nothing.. could be AVG?

I have XP, so i dont need to do that.
Mine just doesnt open anymore (Only opend and gave me that little mirror while in Firefox's little download window, now on the desktop it doesnt even open anymore...

Grrr =P.

Yeah, I'mma go ahead and redownload on ol' fashion internet explorer, see if that helps any.

Okay, heres what you do-

Solution- You need to uninstall AVG, it is the most common problem with installing the mount and blade, I learned this. As I had the same error as most people having problems, after uninstalling AVG, everything was fixed.

There's an edit button, use it. And yes, AVG's RESIDENT SHIELD has to be turned off when running the installers for warband.

Right click on the Desktop Icon> Click Properties> Click Compatibility> and Set it  to Windows 2000.

Try that and tell us if it worked.


EDIT: Did you even install the game? Cuz if its saying to open an application with the setup to install the game then Re-download the game and try again, it could of timed out and caused and error in the file..
