I can not configure my game. Thus I can't change my client from Native to anything else.

I already have +300 hours in Native. I'd rather play something else for a change now.

what distro are you using ?

If it's an ubuntu/mint or derivative then enter in terminal:

sudo apt-get install libaudio2:i386
sudo apt-get install libqt4-gui:i386

Where can I post bug reports?  If here I'll just post it.

I'm running Arch Linux, latest prop AMD drivers, and getting this error.  I have libcurl-gnutls (x86 and x64) installed so I have no idea what is wrong.

I have never played Mount and Blade: Warband before but I have seen a lot of gameplay and am eager to get started. I have a new 13 inch macbook pro with a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 of RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000, and is updated with the latest OS X 10.9.4 software. Will this game run smoothly although I do not have a nVidia/radeon graphics card? I just want to make sure that my laptop is capable of running the game before purchasing! Any help is much appreciated and thanks!

@Captain Lust: I'd like to give some technical suggestions, it would be great if you could forward this to one of the engine programmers:

- Letter-insensitive file lookup for mod files on Linux and Mac: Using a shim in the equivalent to
插入代码块:
CreateFile
in Windows to search for the right assets inside modular Language/Resource/Textures dirs no matter their casing will make most of the existing mods work as expected instead of failing obscurely.

This has been discussed in depth by the people at Wolfire and comes with some example MIT-licensed code, so it should be easy as pie and very rewarding:

https://github.com/OneSadCookie/fcaseopen

- Automatically converting shader techniques available only in DirectX 9 bytecode (mb.fx in the mod) with something like MojoShader: It's a on-the-fly HLSL to GLSL shader converter licensed under BSD-like terms, useful for things like this, where the mod comes with custom shaders but no GLSL counterparts, and used by lots of AAA games as visual and performance-conscious fallback, created by Occulus, Linux porter by excellence and SDL contributor, something you are using in Android/Linux/Mac.

Alternatively there's other similar projects like this used by the Unity engine (second link). I'm willing to port The Last Days shaders to GLSL, but I don't think other people will be as caring or have the knowledge to do it (technical artists in mod teams are few and come and go), also, I don't know if the GLSL shaders are modular yet, but that would be great.

https://github.com/aras-p/glsl-optimizer (Just for completeness)

Additionally, there are some minor problems with the port that have been reported by players, would be great if you could take a look to them, mainly this...

The only thing I lack is RMB rotation on the global map (edge screen rotation works without problems).
The portrait rotation on the character creation screen also does not work. But zoom works.

Probably, the Mount&Blade series are very flexible graphics-wise. You will run it smoothly, but forget about maxing it out.

It would be nice if i could play this with the AMD proprietary drivers. The open source ones are just too slow for gaming in OpenGL.
You can play with fglrx on the latest beta.

fcaseopen looks interesting, I'll try it on the next beta, thanks. It's a bit late for MojoShader and other alternatives though. Shader system is supposed to be modular because of Napoleonic Wars support but we haven't tested with third-party mods. If you have any additional techniques to add, you have to add it to "Modules/yourmod/GLShaders/techniques.xml" along with the correct vertex and pixel shaders.

Porting edit mode would be too hard since it's done with the WinAPI library.

I've seen the OpenGL shader descriptors since the Android version. But I wasn't sure they had been given the mod treatment as Mac/Linux derivate from Android's, which is hardcoded to Native. I took a deeper look to
插入代码块:
hlsl2glslfork
and looks like it only reads uncompiled text HLSL, MojoShader reads
插入代码块:
*.fx
bytecode and spits various GLSL profiles, tho. Even GLSL ES.

But maybe it's too much overhead for doing it auto-magically.

Yeah. I knew that rewriting the scene editor to Qt would be out of reach already as that's old and hacked up code, but it doesn't hurt to try, same goes for the launcher. Maybe showing the
插入代码块:
main.bmp
inside the Linux/Mac configurator is still possible? It'd be a nice touch as there's a lot of good artwork in there.

Anyway, thanks for taking a look. It's always nice when we can give some input from the community behind it.

I also unable to create language template with press of ALT+ENTER following one translation topic, probably because cheat mod is still missed in linux.
Someone can give me all english file of latest version please?

ping...

another ping...

there is another way to take full english language files of 1.160 or someone that take them can upload them please?

thanks for any reply and sorry for my bad english.

Only the Windows version is going to have modding/editor-like capabilities.

The windowed mode menu bar and the scene editor toolbox depend on WinAPI components which cannot be easily rewritten in a portable way, like by using a multi-platform GUI framework like Qt, GTK or WxWidgets.

Just download the latest Windows version and install it with Wine. It will work fine for your purposes.

one user have already tried to do it in windows when he play but the game crash:

There you go, Mr. Crashy boy, worked fine for me, 30 seconds to dump the English language files of the latest Warband version in Steam, called 1.160:

Hello! Anyone know where Saved Profiles are in OS X?

I think the 'Export Character' function isn't working either, even though Warband says it exported the character successfully.

It's in the Application Support directory, under MBWarband.

I was playing Warband multiplayer all last night on my Mac and besides a few crashes (my old Toshiba would just overheat after 10min of play so this is an improvement) was great. Though now when I try to load the game through steam it just sits there saying

Preparing to launch Mount & Blade: Warband...

ad infinitum

Any ideas?

Did you try restarting your computer?

Maybe it's downloading a subscribed workshop module.

I'm using Mac too and I have often the same problem, quitting Steam and restarting is usually enough.
This is one of the most annoying problems I have with Warband for Mac, with crashes after 50/65 minutes (I never was able to play longer) and black textures with many mods.

I hope you will be able to fix these problems soon, I opted out of the beta but this feels like an early beta, not a released game.

In any case, thanks for all the work you are doing, I cannot wait to experience the full potential of Warband on Mac too.

Luciano

It began to work on its own. I had just updated to Maverick so maybe it was just a hiccup. So far the only big bug is the crashing every now and then, but other than that, Thanks!!!    I was starting to twitch because I couldn't play Warband for the last few months, I have now satiated my bloodlust, for now. (or at least till after breakfast)

The black texture problem needs to be fixed by modders as far as I know. You're best off asking the creator of the mod. Post any information you have about the crashes.
