Mount&Blade warband loss due to tax inefficiency

Can anybody help me as to how to correct the problem of loss due to tax inefficiency. I'm loosing 30,000 in income per week at this rate I won't be able to keep paying my troops. I have tried to locate a game manual to no avail.

The key is to keep as few fiefs as possible. TI will destroy you if hold too many and don't have enough income. One solution is to build production houses at each town as these are unaffected by TI. Careful though cos they are expensive and stop production if and enemy takes the town. I personnally take all opportunities to take prisoners and ransom lord prisoners.

Some argue you don't need many fiefs - it's an option.

The problem is if you give them to your lords it pisses the others off, and then they defect and take the fiefs you fought so hard for with them.
