So what if the villagers don't like you? They're peasants, you've got an army. Tough on them.
Also, I really don't see the logic in them liking you less because you removed a murderer from their midst. But that's just me, I guess.

Because the fugitive has relatives in the village. Whichever lord gives you the task to
hunt him down explains that when you are offered the mission.

Also it is far better to keep decent relations with the villagers. With a favorable
relation you can always recruit from the village even if their faction is at war with
yours.

Yes. In my previous V.902 game I was so bored waiting for the Vaegirs to declare war
on another faction that I rode around rescuing any and all villages infested with bandits.
Instant Man of the Year candidate! 

Do a couple of additional tasks and get into a +20 or so level and you can recruit from the village.

In fact since I started a new game in the latest version, I plan on actively pursuing friendly relations
with the villages of factions I definitely want recruits from. Nords, Khergits, and Swadians.

Rhodoks are only good for pillaging and burning!

EDIT:

Even if your not aligned with the faction? Didnt know that.

You can even recruit immediately after you save the village from the bandits...but you can't come back and recruit
later if you don't improve your relationship level with the village to approximately +20 or so.
BUT if you pissed them off in the past you have to save their butts a LOT to get back into their good graces!

Yeah, but that's just one family. All the other people should be grateful, so you should get a net gain in popularity rather than a loss. Eh, whatever.

Say what? Recruit from a village? Whyever would I want to do that? I solo and when I don't I recruit from rescued prisoners or taverns. The last thing I need is a bunch of lvl 1 troops slowing me down.

Of course, armagan's missed release dates in the past.  I wouldn't hold your breath, but it does mean we get a better game for the wait.

Crysis requires 12 GB of HD space to install. I've played through it twice, and I got bored of it. I've played M&B for hundreds of hours.

gameplay people, it all comes down to the gameplay. As Kamov pointed out good graphics is just the icing on the "orgasmic" cake.

I've been playing M&B for since version 8.something. Great game. I'm having trouble with the new version, but I'm not sure if the problem is a bug or me.

I installed the newest version and it won't let me make a new character. I can go through the whole training thing, and I can click all the other options on the opening screen after the game has booted up, but create new character never becomes clickable.

Uninstalled and then reinstalled. Same deal.

I hope the problem is my own stupidity and not int he game. Advice anyone?

If you have got 6 save games already made then that option is impossible. When you upgrade from previous versions you keep the old save games and they just clutter up your list. Just have a look there and delete one.

Why would anyone have 6 different save games? I spend enough time playing one, let alone 6.
