how the hell do you get a village after you become vassel i want two little huts filled with peasents to boss around.

When you have enough renown and good standings with the king, he will offer you a fief and a chance to serve him. You should get both at the same time.

And if you conquer a castle, the king gives you a fief too. Well, the king give them to you IF he wants, of course, he may give them to other bastar... ehm... other lord.

"Is this a beta version?"
Yes.

"I love this game."
We do too!

"I'm level 42."
Good for you!

"I have lots of fiefs."
Again, good for you!

"When is the next version and when will the full game be released?"
No one knows really, best not to ask.

does anyone know if there's still a skill penalty for your NPC companions? will you get the full benefit of points into pathfinding/spotting from borcha if you didnt add it yourself?

I think that's still in, yeah.

I don't think there is an NPC penalty because I have almost nothing in pathfinding/etc and I get a benefit every time I boost my NPCs.

Eh, well that's good news I guess.

There's still kind of a penalty but in reverse.  Instead of deducting points, the game gives you a bonus if you spend points on your player character in party skills.  The bonus is as follows:

Spend 0-1pts on your char = +0 bonus
2-4pts = +1 bonus
5-7pts = +3 bonus
8-9pts = +6 bonus
10pts = +10 bonus

The bonus applies on top of whichever character has the highest skill level.  So for example, if you have 2pts in Wound Treatment and Ymira has 5pts, you will see Ymira listed with 5(+1).  You can go above level 10 with the bonuses (I've tested with Pathfinding and it does continue to increase speed as you go above level 10 with bonuses).

Nice info! I was wondering how that all worked. I guess since skills are less effective on a point-for-point basis than in 0.89x, a bonus in this version makes more sense than a penalty (which I severely disliked  )

Ah, I didn't know this. Interesting though. I imagine it makes the Intelligence route more viable for players now, instead of pumping up combat skills and leadership and having your NPCs cover the rest.

Siege problem. I noticed while i was trying to show a friend how awsome M&B is that when you quick battle a siege defence map your char starts with absolutly nothing... Just fyi and i thought it was kinda important.

Tactics and some other INT skills seem a bit unbalanced - I kept finding myself getting caught by Lords who were faster despite having larger forces than me, with Tactics so superior to mine I hardly got to bring any men to the fight I had been forced into. Perhaps redress this, or find a way to scale their skills upward to meet yours?

Found another problem... Sometimes when jumping onto somthing i start to fly... its kinda kool but pritty usless seeing as how i just keep going up.
