THANKS!!!!
So I was cruising along with my gaggle of followers in various states of training. I have some Swadian militia (dig the new uniforms there!), some Vaegir footmen, couple of Vaegir horsemen and a manhunter or two: a very ragtag force of about 20 inexperienced fighters. Despite their lack of seasoning, they were able to help me take down a small force of forest and mountain bandits, but we took some losses. Behold, a small horde of Black Khergit Raiders thundered down on us before we could take refuge and ...
See, when they catch me, I usually try to guess how the fight will go based on what they're wearing. Nomad hats and padded rags - yeah, I'm good; stylin' padded cloth and steel helmets - could be rough; full suits of armor - oh shi...... In the past, the Khergits were a tough but fun fight, and their armor said as much. So I thought I was ready....
Lo and behold, their new armor almost blinded me with its glory!!! My knees quaking, I chose to fight them knowing that their equipment has been upgraded

The sight of all that nicely rendered cavalry heading my way ... oh man, I almost ran away. In the end we won, but it was a tough fight - I got a very decent coat of armor for my troubles, too!
Much props for the fancy armor and shields, as well as the constantly improving battlefields (this one was thickly forested, which I think saved us). It really is like a brand new game (almost) every version! I can't wait to get back and try out some of the new weaponry - I have only recently discovered the joys of light crossbows and lances
