"5) Specular reflection now works with DirectX 9 shaders in outdoor scenes."'

Not sure what exactly this means but I notice there's no shiny helmets or swords in my version like the older versions.

I have a 6600 gt so I should be able to see any type of shader no problem.

So... hesitantly ..... 0805 is bug-reduced, or bug-free?  I'm not keen on d/ling a massive 75 MB just to be able to repeat myself tomorrow or next week...

did you make a full install or did you patch? I'm not sure the materials.brf file updates after a patch

I've patched. I'll try a full install to see if it's any different.

i'm just happy that he made it load faster again
plz don't release another update unless there a some really serious problems its just getting stupid with 5 patches just to stablise a game :???:
also can you make a seperate patch from 1 to another instead of having to download all the other patches again :?:

Dryvus: whether you're sure or not, the latest DirectX release is needed.
If you don't have that, there is your problem. .805 apparently references another DLL which previous versions didn't, which is also covered by the October release of 9.0c.
Ah ha! Thanks so much, Janus. Good to know I haven't been downloading so far for nothing.
lord of the sith lords, if you download the latest patch, it will update any release including and after v.800.

^ Yes.  However many months of work on this update, and you expect a perfect release of a beta product?  Not to be harsh, but are you a professional whiner, or just an aspiring amateur?  I'm just curious.

yes.  This is the beta of a game, you knew that, and its still more stable, than, say, Morrowind.  You (I assume) were also whining about how we hadn't had an update for a while, and now that you have one, its bad that its patched.  Shut up.

I haven't found any

That's why there's no download listed on the main page. You can wait for the stable version, no one's forcing you to play early it's just fun for some people.

Findley, most major developers allow serious bugs to rot their players games for MONTHS before releasing half-hearted attempts at stabilizing a game you've paid $40+ for.  Meanwhile, they try to charge you an additional $20+ for an expansion pack.

Here you have a developer working almost ALONE on an absolutely brilliant title that he gives away for FREE.  He spends his own time adding new material, gameplay tweaks, enhanced graphics, etc., and he is dedicated enough to release bug fixes on a nearly daily basis to support his fans...and you're complaining because he's improving it so quickly.

The version is 0.805.  As in "unfinished".  This is what "work-in-progress" means.  If it bothers you to play unstable versions, either revert to 0.751, or wait until the next official "stable" version is released.  But above all, please give at least what credit and respect is due to this effort.

No, but your very rude. I was simpley pointing out that it would make more sense to work out the kinks and THEN come out with like v 8.10 instead of just comming out with a new, glichy v every day. Unless the goal is for the actual players to be thier beta testers, we report an error and that way they dont have to spend forever looking for it. That would make more sense, and save money.

that is no doubt part of the deal - you get a value-for money game in an unfinished state.  You are allowed to have input, both in suggesting new additions and in pointing out less satisfactory things about the game.
I'm sure the buggiest version was released as a sort of 'test the waters' thing, and the instant good reactions confirmed that fixing all the bugs was worth it - if the responses had been hugely negative, the development team might have pulled back for a bigger re-working... who knows.

you know how long we've waited between .751 and .800 right? Look at any pc game that comes out, and you'll find bugs in the "finished" product. If they had found the bugs BEFORE the release of .800, they would have delayed it, which they did several times to work out the bugs they themselves encountered.

And yes, we are beta testers in a sense, as we've bought the game while it's in beta, and while we may not be specifically looking for bugs during the time we play, we will undoubtedly encounter them, and report them. I think this a key part in the development of the game, as it allows each member of the community to aid in the games development, and have input in what may or may not appear in the final product.

then why the ppls here in the 1st place? and interested enough to make an forum acc to post?
forum is a place of fanboiz   to offer help to the Dev group who happened-to-have only ~5 members (I dont remember exact numbers)

People that has been here for a while don't take kindly to newbies critizycing the way Armagan and his team handle things around here. Mainly because the man and his product are raw excellence. So please understand my friend this is just a normal reaction. Should have been here a few months ago when people who complained was branded, tarred, feathered and ran out of town. But things are more mature and civilized now.
*lancer63 whispers: btw did they fix the guillotine already?

Been playing .805 for several hours today, and everything been working great! Not a single bug or crash at all! Highly enjoyable to the extreme.

It's been a while since I played M&B, and when the .800 came out I started testing the newer version out(and each subsequent release/bug-fix) and each one had some serious play-breaking bug(s). But now it really does look quite stable and very fun to play.

Congrats to armagan and team!
