For good or bad, not everybody lives in or near a city. Here in the middle of nowhere (also known as the Australian outback ), the only options for accessing internet are through your telephone wires (ie. dialup), or satellite internet at outrageous prices.

Who said anything about 56K? I connect at a speed of 28.8K. And finally, someone else who realizes that not everybody lives in an urban or built-up area. Somebody tell the communications companies. But it's true, it only takes half an hour for the updates, but it took me from 11 one night to 1 the next night, because my connection is an absolute piece of **** which disconnects periodically whenever you download stuff. Sometimes the data will be in the browser cache, sometimes not.

Absolute Godsend.

I remember having dial-up and I would have the same problem as you in that it would lose its connection.  Use getright!

I don't get any of my equipment, troops, rank, relations and heroes back silly.

First everyone complains about it taking so long for an update, now they are complaining that the updates are coming too quickly..... Complainers, can't live with them.... can't kill them. 

That wasn't complaining and I never compained about it taking so long for an update.

Well this patch didn't fix my problem, it crashes almost in every battle and the crash is caused by the agent.cpp file in /src .. in previous versions I could debug it with Visual Studio by pressing retry (so i could report the line which propably caused the crash) but now it doesn't open for some unknown reason, maybe it's my computer. I'm using Windows 2000 (sp4), my craphics adapter: radeon 9700 (ati catalyst driver v. 5.5) and integrated nForce2 SoundStorm sound card (newest drivers for w2k, don't remember the version number). Does anyone else have this problem with similar/almost similar hardware and OS? Kind of fustrating, because it runs really smooth even with the cool enviromental shadows on (1024x76. Oh yeah, this problem has been always with the 0.80x versions. I've tried updating it from 0.800 -> 0.804 with patches and also tried the full install for 0.804, neither works for me, it crashes in the battles, nowhere else.

Edit: Oh great, I should search the forums first.. it is related to the permanent corpses, at least others didn't have this problem after they enabled the permanent corpses.. I had them disabled for performance . Carry on

When installing the full version, it says that i dont have DirectX 9.0c installed. Checked it and i actually have it, any idea what i should do? And yeah, after installing the game still wont start up, again complaining about that direct x. Re-installed the game and direct x already.

Blah, sry my bad. I installed that DirectX "thing" what that error message suggested, and it worked.  Amazing job M&B- team!
