Great mod!!
Mind you, I didn't download it for the Ninjas, but for the guns, as I'm wanting a fix, while I wait for the Firearm mod to be ported over.
Little bit dissapointed with the firearms though. So far after several hours of playing, I've only come across flintlock pistols and not only do they they lack any accuracy whatsoever and take forever to reload, but they don't really seem to be doing any more damage than a bow, or crossbow. Definately a poor choice of weapon, particularly considering that you've severely limited the ammo. Needless to say, when the bad guys use them they are amazingly inept and the phrase "couldn't hit a barn door with a bag of rice" comes to mind.
Did you put any others in there? A musket or something perhaps?
Also, there is a bug that occurs with the cartridge ammo, when you pick up another item during combat. Every time I did this, I found that the cartridge max ammo reset to be whatever it was at the conclusion of your combat. For example, the first time I did it, I ended up with only 7/17 rounds in the inventory screen and the next time I went in. Next time it was 3/17. After this, I picked up a new lot of ammo and it reset itself up to 16/17.
Anyhow, great mod. I really look forward to the next installment!!
Edit.
I just did a test of the effectiveness of the guns in this mod. I tracked down a party of Forest Bandits, who have been conveniently equipped with one gun each. I then stood off by myself (having had the rest of my troops hold at the spawnpoint) and faced thier barrage, while shooting back myself, using my trusy pistol. I survived.
In fact, not only did I survive, but so did they. I was unable to take out a single one of them given the poor accuracy of my own weapon, even at skill level 150. However, once they had used up all thier ammo, they closed on me, so I lanced them all to death by myself.
I then repeated the same test, except this time I used a heavy crossbow. While I survived the barrage, I managed to kill 5 of them, even though my skill in crossbow started out at 20 (as I hadn't used them for this game yet).
I might try the same thing for bows, but clearly the flintlock is wasy underpowered for all concerned.
Edit No. 2. OK. Tried the Forest Bandit hunting again. This time with bows. Again using enemy parties of greater than 20. First off, I used a shortbow with 20 skill. I had to get really close for this, as it just doesn't shoot that far. They managed to kill my horse, but not me and I managed to kill about 3. Next off I used a war bow with skill of 99. This time, I managed to kill all but 3 before they ran out of ammo, although they did manage to kill my horse again. Once again, I survived.
So, can we please get some love for the poor, poor pistol?
