Alright I need a little help here.

I am trying to add the faction "Ivory Temple", and make parties of Ivory Ninjas (from the same faction) appear on the map.

I added this line to module_factions.py, just below "forest_bandits":
("ivory_temple","Ivory Temple",0, 0.9,[("outlaws",-0.6),("manhunters",-0.6),("player_faction",0.1)], []),

I also added this line to module_parties.py, just below "sea_raider_spawn_point_2":
("ivory_ninja_spawn_point"   ,"ivory_ninja_sp",pf_disabled|pf_is_static, no_menu, pt_none, fac_ivory_temple,0,ai_bhvr_hold,0,(6, 54.4),[(trp_ivory_ninja,15,0)]),

I also added this line to module_party_templates.py just below "sea_raiders":
("ivory_ninjas","Ivory Ninjas",icon_gray_knight,0,fac_ivory_temple,soldier_personality,[(trp_ivory_ninja,9,40)]),

And finally I added this line to module_troops.py, just below "black_khergit_horseman":

Everything seems to compile fine, but I just noticed:

No "..." after module_parties.py and module_troops.py. Strange. I have no idea what that means.

I don't see Ivory Ninja parties appearing ingame... is there something I'm missing? :???:
 
Did you set the number of parties to spawn?

In which file and where?

I have recruitable Ivory Ninjas in taverns now, and they work pretty well. So that part is done.

Now all I need are map-spawned parties of them.

I had thought about this, but ultimately I decided it would be better if people could play noble ninjas too. More depth for character roleplaying, which I realize many people entertain themselves with.

Can you tell me how to sort this please?

-Zendar! Next to the armorer, under the stairs. There is a chest.  full ivori ninja armor and some nice weapon!
-Sargoth! In street. Behind the chart.
-Veluca! There is a half ninja in the roof!!! Go up every stairs!  :grin:
I think the ninjas are littlebit weak. Sea raiders are kick them. Moon tooth is weak too. I think.
Other. Moon Tooth is an ugly, old drunken ninja! Sometimes i meet him in the tavern, and he forget me and my name! And he want join my team again! :mrgreen:
 
I'm really impressed! Very nice modeling work, and a kickass setting! Too bad about game balance (a player might be successful with ultra-light armor and high AGI, but the AI ninjas get totally owned by slower, but heavier-moving troops), but, after all, it's still version .001, isn't it?

Do you remember some months ago, when you announced the Vampire mod? You were put down because you said you'd only direct the project, without coding or modeling; it was a good idea, though: maybe, when this one is released, you might want to resurrect the thread and give your idea a try!
 
there's something I've noticed that occurs in the game, if you give any npc that is equipped with a dual (shield) you can't give them another melee weapon. For example Ymira has a bodken and a dual bodken, she will lose any two-handed or another set of dual/one hand weapon you also choose to give her, don't know if this is a glitch or intentional but just want to let everyone know.

Sounds like something wrong with your M&B installation - the "Commonres" folder is only in M&B's main directory. Or you are using the wrong version of M&B. This mod is for version .890.

I have tried to figure out why this happens, and I am stumped. I have done nothing different from the other recruitable heroes and THEY never show up in taverns again. It's strange, and I will continue to look into it.

Yeah I will probably beef up the ninjas a little bit - make them stronger for combat, to compensate for their lack of armor.

I will also look into shoring up Moon Tooh a bit, but keep in mind he is mainly around as a trainer for early players an their parties. And the dude is really old - he can't quite fight like he used to, which is why he needs an apprentice. :wink:

Alright so Vata found the chests in Zendar, Sargoth, and Veluca. There are TWO more (sorry, I had said there was only one more :oops:), and it is diabolically hidden (muahahaha!) so keep looking.

Seriously though, I corrected my previous post - there are two chests left to find.

Also, I updated the first post to include a workaround for the "disappearing items" bug. They don't actually disappear, and you can recover them one at a time by unequipping all weapons/shields and re-entering the hero's inventory screen - they will re-appear in the first equipped weapon/shield spot.

Jepp! You are right! Moon is old. But the old japan masters are ironmans!  :grin:
I think the old drunken ninja is my best character!  :mrgreen:
