Well.. In this picture neither of the three empire factions controls any coastal land or the area where nords can be seen during the warband period:

This suggests either the Vlandians and Surgians conquered the coast from the empire factions by the time the demo campaign was shown, or that it used to happen in the past before the empire fell into smaller factions

Anyone know what color is which faction?

This was in one of the dev blogs, but said to be subject to change. Is there a full or confirmed list elsewhere?

Blue – Sturgia
Green – Battania
Pink – Northern Empire
Orange – Western Empire
Red – Vlandia
Dark Grey/Brown – Bandit
Brown – Khuzait

You missed purple, which is another Calradian Empire.
There will be 3 calradian factions.

Rhodoks live in a completely different place... there's even Jelkalan (owned by VLANDIA)  or something like that in Bannerlord.

I think Rhodoks are more like Italian culture faction, and Battanians based on Celtic culture. Right? If i remember correct, mr Frank also said something like that in one of internet Q-A event. I will put here if i find.

You are correct, Battanians are an all new faction.

Battanians are basically nothing more but the predecessors for that giant wooded area where hundreds of Forest Bandits spawn in the north East of Swadia.

Sturgia =>Kieven Rus with a heavy nordic slant.
Vlandia => Swadia & Rhodok ancestor.
Khuzait => Seljuk.
Aserai => Mamelukes.

I believe you are mistaken in this one.. Battanians are said to be masters of the bow and forest ambushes...

Ey, I had great success on IG BG ambushing people from bushes with the Rhodok hammer!

I'm glad Taleworlds is taking their time    I hope they keep taking their time for another 7 years...  Because the longer they take, the more features will get added and then taken away again...  Until the code is a spiderweb of missing parts and errors 

And the more chance they'll get to turn the game into a CONSOLE port  ... (because $$$)  Then change their mind and try to turn it back into a PC game...  Further compounding their problems until 14 years later...

the fanboys are right and the game is OK. (after three years of modding).
