Frank I think its time for the PR department to grow balls and say to TW that we need to release some info. The information gap is beyond retarded now, people fight all over the forum for BL info and this is turning into a meme/rage discussion. Its been 6 **** months bro. I mean why do you decline even 1 screenshot to the public? You are a company, its understandable but this is getting annoying for all of us people who follow this thread for many months for some, years for others. To my eyes this is a big ''**** you'' by your part, sorry but its the truth.
Two things here:

The first is that we tend to avoid posting single screenshots like that, in a sort of breadcrumb trail, because our view (which I personally support) is that releasing information in that way is more likely to promote confusion, and ultimately worsen our communication, than it is to improve it.

The other is that there is information on its way *relatively* soon.

But isn't realeasing no information even more negative than "Breadcrumbs"?.Six month's is an awful long time for no information to be realeased on the current state of Bannerlord, which we are all eagerly awaiting.

Drool on  thosse answers. Next post ETA is 5  months from now at the least.

Also no word on denuvo yet lel. But yes, its less important  than "hey stop spreading false information". And "we dont release information so no misinformation will happen"

Myeah, I don't think posting a screenshot would satiate the beast, it would only change 'speak to us TW, u sux' to 'so much waiting and only one screenshot? TW, u sux'. I'll take a devblog instead, people will ***** about it anyway, but at least it will be some tangible info instead of minefield of guessing.

I had the same thought, as I suppose the best way to have a lot of misinformation or 'fake news' created in the web is to not provide any real information or news at all

People are still going on about this? Seriously? Look. It's obvious - obvious - what's going on. You don't have to be a damn detective to realize this thread is pointless. There's not going to be another blog. There's not going to be a game. Can we please just move on? There are other, better games that have this special advantage of actually existing. You can continue waiting all you like, but it's gonna come out around the same time as Half-Life 3 or a FIFA game that isn't about footy. In fact, why can't we just discuss the actual games we're looking forward to? Personally the new South Park game, State of Decay 2, and The Last of Us II can't come fast enough. Those are the three I see the way people here see Bannerlord except, again, with the advantage of the fact they're actually releasing this year.

Stop it. If only the bloody ignore thingy worked for me.
There are other threads and forums for other games.

Well, y'know, this is kind of the Bannerlord forums, so, shockingly, that's what people are looking to talk about here. See the way it works is if you want to talk about those other games you can go to their websites and join their forums. In fact, please do.

If standard soon means 6+ months.... "relatively" soon should mean more / equal to that.  It's pucker gen confirmed that the E3 (about 4 months away) is a confirmation of a devblog, which will then follow 2 months later... In accordance to Taleworlds definition of "soon".  Wooo spead the news guys!

Maybe he meant the video presentations where you said "this is the game in its current state", "there's still polishing to be done and edges to be rounded". These words could be interpreted as "game is almost finished and there's only to adjust the details".
That video is a showcase of siege though and I think it's pretty clear I'm only talking about siege. If that's even where the misinterpretation has arisen from, though, which I suspect it isn't. There is a lot of false information out there and I feel that it can be the case that people believe it or assume the opinion or attitude of someone else, is based on something we've actually said, when it often isn't.

Anyway, I just wanted to challenge that quote since it was aimed at me, I feel, a bit unfairly.

The problem is you have failed to provide even a readable piece of information, like a dev blog. The whole 'confusion' thing is just stupid by your company's part, how a screen can create confusion? What are you talking about? Same old same again 'relatively soon'.  Its a broken record now. You might aswell stop giving information until the release, considering it will create confusion IN YOUR opinion. (Not a personal jab to Lust, but PR in general.)

Crap, did I miss the uprising?

"returns with pitch fork and nobody is there"

As for information coming relatively soon, maybe it is E3 in June he is referring to. I recommend transcendental meditation for health and wellness.

I think the problem isn't giving out information or rough estimates on where the game currently is, the problem is the usual silence that follows these statements. Take a look at how Larian Studios handled one of the stretch goals of their kickstarter campaign for Original Sin, they promised a day/night cycle yet later came to the conclusion that adding that retroactively to the then already existing game would require lots and lots of additional work they didn't anticipate when they thought of that stretch goal initially.

They communicated that with the backers and fans and pretty much nobody was upset that they couldn't uphold their promise, if they however would've kept this a secret from the public until after the game's release there would have been a pretty big uproar.

See, the problem isn't making rough promises and not being able to keep them, there's only a problem if you a) simply break it, b) keep quiet about it and c) not telling why. Nobody is upset because the game didn't release at the end of 2016 and nobody is mad that you told everybody that Taleworlds is hoping to meet that goal, it's that the goal wasn't met and you didn't say a single word about it. Same with the features that were already promised and later downgraded to a 'maybe' without any explanation whatsoever, unless you count 'can't talk about that right now :^)' as a sufficient answer, of course.

What is the most frustrating is reading Frank saying "a little while", "a little too early", "soon", "just needs some more polishing" when it's obviously far from finished. I was expecting something by the end of last year, and now, by the beggining of this year, but it's more and more obvious that they still have a lot of work to do, and it's not "soon" at all.
I'd really appreciate if you provided some actual quotes instead of this. We've tried very hard not to make any promises about development or release, despite endless, often angry requests and even demands for us to do so, and despite game development being incredibly unpredictable and complex.

At no point have I stated the game "just needs some more polishing".

I understand your frustration but please check your facts because I don't think your post is fair.

Alright I understand I was unfair to you. I'm sorry I used your name while you are not at fault, I know you can only give information you are allowed to give. It's just that I'm really frustrated. Maybe I interpreted too much, maybe I put some words in your mouth that weren't yours, but were from some reports I saw on the internet, etc.. Sorry to have targeted you in particular that was not what I was trying to do, it's just that you are the only face we have in front of us, so for me, you are TW.
Be assured that I respect you and your work.

I'm just waiting for some specific informations that we can't get anywhere, and we don't even know why we can't get them. The fact that it could "worsen communication" is completely illogic for me as a customer, since any piece of information is something I drink like Vikings drank Hydromel and took mushrooms before battles.

The last thing I want is cause more trouble between you (the whole TW team) and the community. I know it must be hard for you guys, and especially you, Frank, not to be able to share informations, but I really want you (again, the whole TW team) to also understand how hard it is for some of us to wait, and wait, and wait, in the dark.

edit: I think the post above me from @salmonsy explains it better than I could.

How would it 'promote confusion?' You mean people would ask what build it is from and maybe criticize it being in the final build when maybe it isn't? That really ties in with us having no clue how the game is progressing. Frankly, it can't really worsen your level of communication. A breadcrumb is, after all, something.

The other is that there is information on its way *relatively* soon.

Is there any real reason not to give a definitive date for the information? The main issue many of us have here is that we simply don't know what stage the game is at; we hear contradicting information (often based on little more than rumours) that the few and far between official info releases in no way support or detract from.

Very well said.

This lack of professionalism is being done on purpose. I'm sure a lot of people would like to think TW are just clumsily inept at customer relations but it's gone on long enough and they're intelligent enough that it's unquestionably intentional.

I just hope this company that doesn't give the slightest **** about respecting the community that enables them to conduct business is able to deliver a solid, polished, engrossing sequel to Warband when it eventually releases.

Patience is a virtue, my friend, it truly is. It's fine to wish that PR models were different or that we had the game in beta form already... But to let that turn into frustration or anger, that's on each of us individually to manage. Whether we get angry or not won't change the outcome of when the game comes out, only how upset we'll be in the meantime. So a word to the wise, take it in stride.

I guess people hope that getting angry might change the way TW conduct their community relations. The obvious fact that it has no effect whatsoever makes them even more angry.

Fortunately for TW, their staff clearly have an innate ability to not give a ****.
