Medieval castle were not big. They were small, and intended to be defended by few men. A big castle would be harder to protect against large armies due to a larger area of attack that can be exploited by all the attackers. Smaller castle have smaller area, but still opposes the same challenge to capture.
I am glad that TW is seeking for historical accuracy, even if of course it's impossible task to be 100% accurate. I am still very suspicious about the gameplay video feathuring Warband's sound effect...

he is right. You guys havent been a medieval castle before ? its actually very small http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Jf04hkS_mTI/T0zpF4cH2fI/AAAAAAAABBY/_HfgkdGkLAQ/s1600/caerphilly+castle+13th+century+largest+castle+in+Wales.JPG

Here you can see "Burg Hohenzollern":

The castle has more space for living. That is what i am missing in the trailer. The castle in bannerlord has too few rooms. Just walls, a gate and maybe a keep.
That is NOT enough for a castle. A few hundred people lived in castles. There should be MUCH more space.

You realize that the buildings in your image were built in the 19th century right? It's a palace, not a fortress. There's hardly any medieval architecture left there.

Do you want to feel sorry ? :') Click on that link, and look closely to the guy on top of the far right tower. Look closely at him while the catapulte is rotating.

Shame on me. This point goes to you

I also have a question..Wouldn't catapults have had some sort of wooden covers on the sides to, you know, prevent the catapult operators from getting shot in the face? That seems like really basic technology. There could still be a viewing hole for aiming, and they could peak their head around the sides too.

Obviously, this may not have been historically accurate. It's just what makes sense to me, but if that's never something they did, fair enough.

There are still large medieval castles though, like Krak des Chevaliers, but they're just less common.

Both large, medium and small castles/fortresses existed. This discussion is nonsense.

Hmm i agree. But i think its more about the living space.
A garnison of 300 Men with about 50 people as normal peasents (cook, blacksmith, women, kids, etc.) cannot live in a gate and just a keep.
You will agree that there are too few rooms in the castle. Just walls, gate and one keep isn't enough to be called a castle.

Look at the same place at 1:50 !

Registered just point out that the PC Gamer Weekender trailer had a big castle in it, check around the 1 minute mark. I would post a link but can't since I'm a newcomer to this forum. Cheers.

Edit: I'm sorry, I meant the Gamescom Gameplay video.

Does it really matter what size the castle is?  You're going to (hopefully) be reducing it to rubble anyway,  so I don't see why there is so much of a fuss over it.

This just reminded me.

It'd be pretty cool if damage done to the castle would stay until the owner or you repairs it via money or something. That would be pretty cool.

Oh god guys whats up?

Its so funny how The Community badmouth about The devs work and end up in The Same  sentence: Okay WHO cares the mod devs will make it ????

Beside I like what I  see. Go on and take all the Bad sentences as suggestions .
