Greetings all and thanks for making your way over to our 15th Development Blog. It's been a little while since we updated the blog, but we've been hard at work on the game and we're excited to talk a little about something we've been working on recently.

I'd like to thank you for saving me money, too long has this game been teased for release and your **** communication skills with your customers is disgusting to say the least. A very useless update, telling us things we mostly already know about and still not even a slither of a hint to a release. I've spent my money on games actually out or otherwise available for pre-order so I will be buying this on some 50% sale or with a cheap 3rd party retailer. I say this as a long-time M&B Warband fan who has clocked in over 500 hours of the vanilla game, not including any mods.

You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Dont be mad they love mony too. If they dont release a game. They dont want disapoint us. I cant wait anymore too but whats point of be unpationt

They didn't even bother to sticky this thread

Let ask them for aerly access. Every one how are agree just type yes

Im as a first one

Yes

Not really anything new and super exciting.

What about new types of quests?
Assuming the role of companions or your children when your character dies?
Is diplomacy improved? more complex in options?
How is kingdom management?
What about the relationship with NPCs other than people you can recruit from ?

Seriously - the blog is nothing. Nothing.

And now it's announced for consoles.

The omens continue to be bad. Have to say my enthusiasm is almost dead for this game.

Well, I suppose this was "the big one" that was hard to keep quiet about. Auch comedians

I don't think any "big" news was promised in March. It was said that there would be something new in March, and the PC Gamer article with those 16 new screenshots certainly fits that bill. E3 will be when we find out something more significant.

Excuse me? It's never been announced for consoles, let alone "now". The possibility of it coming to consoles one day was mentioned a few years ago by Taleworlds. They said the PC version would definitely be finished first.

People, complain about the blog if you like but please try and be accurate and not refer to things that were never promised or said.

I've got to say, 90% of the comments here are ****ing cancer. Why are you all acting so entitled? They might be working on features that they're not ready to talk about yet, and there might be people who don't know about the criminal stuff that hear about it from this blog.

Most companies just make the damn game without telling anything to their fans, and that's okay. TW is going above and beyond. Terrible PR history? What the **** are you talking about?

/rant

Anyway, good to hear from you all. This game is gonna be worth the wait.

Sooo a new bannerlord blog: the **** they already know but we say it again so we dont say something else.

Anyways, its nice to see some activity, personally I dont get any excitement from the blogs or the community anymore, Taleworlds sucks at it. I'll just wait for the release and buy happy the game. I recommend those who get dissapointed all the time to do the same.

doesnt matter what most companies do. this one chose to announce it 5 years ago and setup blogs and a steam page while only giving updates every 3-4 months (this one in particular not being an update at all). they built up hype to early unnecessarily and the result was making people think the game is about to come out which jaded its fans. when they said they thought it would launch 4th quarter of 2016 and here we are going into 2nd quarter of 2017 and still not even a new estimate? If they would come out and say "we had some setbacks/took longer than expected but we're shooting for the end of 2017" people would calm down. people dont feel entitled to play the game, they feel entitled to a response from an almost completely silent developer that opened up so many platforms for discussing/gathering information about the game and chooses to barely use them.

More types of quests would be nice. An added variety of quest so they won't seem so repetitive. But I'm guessing by the lack of mentioning new types of quest they are still repetitive.
You talk about Valuable relationships with NPCs, but only cover one type of relationship. Recruiting. What about interaction with fellow vassals, or opposing lords. What about betrayals, and intel? What about relationships with companions? Is there more interaction we can do?Similar to your viking conquest dlc?

Will the player be a lone hero again, that just ages and dies, putting a limit on our playthroughs, adding to the repetitiveness ? Or can we have heirs, a wife, or companions that we can take possession of and continue the story? What about those relationships?

What about being a king, are there more commands and options ruling your kingdom?

Can the next blog be more detailed and explain what you have done other than the stuff you have shown already? Is there even more to show? or are you hitting the cap limit of what you've done? I am impressed with what I have seen so far and I will purchase the game (I'm sure that's all you want to hear), but I do wish this game be taken farther than just being a new and improved warband. Becasue the blatant dependency on modders and mods is too obvious.

They have said that it took longer than expected- which in any case is perfectly obvious, as we didn't get to play the game last year! They have also said that they are confident that they will be able to get the game out in some form this year.

I think I remember reading some time ago that there would be a greater variety of quests, but I'm not certain. As for more examples of relationships with NPCs, they said in the PC Gamer article that being on good terms with an NPC could mean they will help you in other situations. If you need to kidnap someone for instance, that will be much easier if you have friendly NPCs in the town. The situations in which an NPC can help you will depend upon what type of NPC they are; for example merchants give you advantages in trading, whereas a gang leader can give you advantages in 'special operations'.

Regarding your last paragraph, I think one of the things they have done with Bannerlord is take on board the suggestions and complaints about the original (there was a site for suggestions many years ago in the early days of Bannerlord development) and also taken into account some mod features. An example of this in the PC Gamer article is that you can go straight to a particular important NPC through the town menu rather than roam the streets in search of them, similar to how many mods let you get the quests from NPCs via the town menu. The fact that they have been making the sandbox better, emphasising that the AI follows the same rules as the player and feels more real (such as periodically changing the land use in villages, as the player can in Bannerlord), is a major improvement that I think will help make native Bannerlord more satisfying and have greater longevity than Warband. These are two examples of why I think that there will be fewer gameplay shortcomings for mods to try and compensate for in Bannerlord than there were in Warband.

I wish the dev team were more open about progress/ shared more news. Screenshots from four years ago could have made it look like we would get a early access that year. Based on all the dev blog posts this could just as easily come out this year as it could in four more. Feelsbadman

yes its obvious they missed their mark, i dont recall hearing any developer mentioning that it took longer or why?

"some form this year"...so fully playable? broken beta? closed alpha?
"we were wrong on last year but im pretty sure we can get something out this year" sounds more like the right hand doesnt know what the left is doing than delaying a game for the sake of polishing it.

Once we become feudal lords do we still have to personally recruit from these NPCs?

Do AI lords also have to recruit from other NPCs?

Where is freaking release date, you warband of slowpokes ?

Nobody cares about npcs, quests and other bs. Release date, combat and multiplayer. 6 months after "To Be Announced" banner and its ridiculous bs.
Teaseworlds posts are bad joke.
