Greetings all and thanks for making your way over to our 15th Development Blog. It's been a little while since we updated the blog, but we've been hard at work on the game and we're excited to talk a little about something we've been working on recently.

Ain't Mordhaus combat mechanics the same as Chivalrys?

U nuts? haha go watch some videos, they already have it working almost as smooth as a babies' butt

EDIT: here in case you are too lazy to use google -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-B4AwgArwA

There seems to be more moves but the style of the animations and character movement look a lot like chivalry's to me and don't look great in my opinion. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Mordhau was no more successful than Chivalry. I think the only thing that will sink Bannerlord's MP is how good it is, not how good other games are (I'm using the word 'good' very broadly there).

Chairman Maoundy 说:
That looks like Chivalry to me, just a bit more complicated.
Chivalry has no directional attacks, it has spinning glitch (M&B has some of this as well), it's slow-paced. Chivalry lacks reposes, chivalry lacks attack locks, etc...
The only similarity is with the models, sounds, and mouse wheel for thrusting. You either never played it, or you are simply trying to disregard it's quality with moronic comments...

M&B's extremely stiff and slow-paced, much more like chivalry than Mordhau tbh, the main difference being that you can parry with attacks and you have directional attacks... Question: How can't you see how better it is? You blind or sumthing?

You are aware that you are basing everything you say on a single video without ever having played the game? Don't expect me to do the same. Stop being retarded.

Ok Einstein, be careful not to tip over your high heels while you're at it. Pathetic little mongrel...

The Sarranid Sultanate has Declared War on the Kingdom of Nords due to recent provocations!

I wonder what the price for the bannerlord game will be. I have kept 49 euros in my steam wallet for when the game is released so I can buy the game as soon as it comes out.

I don't expect it to be more than 50 euros. Taleworlds is not like that.

Rising Storm 2 costs 30€/20€ currently and TripWire is about the same size as Taleworlds, if I recall correctly. I propably won't pay more than that for Bannerlord. It ain't a AAA game which can justify charging anything close to 60€.

Stop it, you are ruining my french fries.

TaleWorlds didn't use to be like that, but they also didn't take 5 years to make their previous releases, nor keep us so thoroughly in the dark. I fear the TaleWorlds we knew is no more.

How did you/we ever know Taleworlds..? They have always been completly silent at all times. It hasn't really been different 5 years ago.

They were more far more active before Warband, and I distinctly remember the devs popping up in random threads and replying to comments. The real silence began when Bannerlord was announced, with even the blog posts being far more infrequent and content free than anyone expected.

You know the first thing that comes to mind with this? Money, or the lack of it to be precise. I'm genuinely worried.

That's on their account mate... Solely on their account. If they release some half-ass beta/alpha release and patch on the go we would all be playing it already, and money would be cashing in like a river flood...

Instead what I'm detecting is that they are far more concerned to be less committed to the community, and instead chose to be silent so they keep full control of the game features without any opinion interference. It's weird, but it may as well be their downfall...

EDIT: sum more mordhau including mounted-combat -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNYXAKqOtjo&t=230s - I have to say, M&B with this combat system would be the perfect game for sandboxing. BTW I've mentioned MP but I've always hated M&B MP, whilst I will most likely buy Mordhau as soon as it releases, odd huh? haha

You should throw an 'IMO' in there somewhere because not everyone would agree with you, myself included. I'm not a fan of that combat style, personally. It feels strange and almost arcade-y, which is not what I would want in M&B. I would rather have M&B's combat to be a little more down-to-earth, as the rest of the game is. I understand the draw to it, as it does seem like a deep combat system, but I'm just not a fan of it.

I bet 40-45 USD. If I remember correctly, Warband was $30 on release and the original was also $30. They can move copies at a higher price point now that they're well known, but I don't think they'll go full-on AAA pricing and ask $60.

They were active on the forum during the beta phase of Mount & Blade, then went silent after the retail launch. They showed back up during the beta for Warband and went silent again around the retail launch. Nothing surprising here.

I don't disagree with you, but a lot of AAA games now tend to be much more than $60 if you count all the DLC.

Bannerlord is not AAA.

Bannerlord is not AAA.

I know. Just saying many of AAA games are getting more towards the $100 range for all the content.

Do we consider Paradox games AAA? Asking the real question here.
