As is traditional, this blog covers our previous major event, goes talks a bit about our experience and what we showed. This time it's E3, possibly the biggest gaming event of the year and the first time we've ever attended with our own booth. Our reveal was Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord's siege gameplay, which came in the form of this trailer and the extended gameplay video below.

The games going to be great and the annoying whining by bratish fans who think the developers are going to implement their arbitrary "improvements" this late in the development process are ridiculous.

There has been a lot of excitement and good number of interesting, useful suggestions as well.

Dunno why this sentiment keeps coming up. Are people so desperate for the game they'd rather the devs ignore even good suggestions in case they add any sort of delay?

I only wanted to ask will there be a order for archers like you tell them hold fire and fire at your sign i think it would be cool idea,if not no problem the game is alredy awersome enough.

You already have this in Warband so yes it will probably still be in the game.

i think maybe he mean something like target range just like the troop dragging for movement so they will focus shooting that side
kinda disappointed that look like bannerlord have trebuchet but cant knock down wall
still waiting how heir work and it would be cool if each faction or created faction have different rule system and maybe make the battle field not random generated but base on the real topography on each town or village by making some border line or so making some fortification like on the cliff or hill have some advantage or disadvantage on bad topography rather than same layout field

Most video games are euro - centric, which in my opinion isnt a bad thing, because the west is better lol

Dude there is no discussion about "Asia is better than Europe" or opposite LMAO, just calm down it is a game that inspired by history, but not historically accurate because TaleWorlds has their OWN story about their CALRADIA CONTINENT  No need to fight on cultural fan-boy topics

The trebuchets and the like can indeed knock down walls just on the campaign map not in battle which makes sense because of how long it would take to knock down an actual castle wall in reality.

i mean in the battle using trebuchet only to destroy the upper side kinda....

One trebuchet doth not a breach make. Defenders could easily repair any damage caused by a relatively small number of trebuchets and similar engines, which is why besiegers built rams and employed sappers. While obviously it would be nicer to knock down a wall from afar, it could only be done with an overwhelming number of siege engines, which more often than not, were unavailable even to huge armies.

A single trebuchet is more of a terror weapon, able to smash buildings and kill people at random.

I dont know if devs read this section, but i will do some sugestions.  First of all, sorry my bad english. I talk spanish.

My ideas are for the body to body combat.
We have Swords, fencing and mace type weapons (Also arrows and artillery now)

Idea:  If one character gets a deep cut in the left leg (example) he cant run, and walk with some difficulties.  If the injury is on the arm, this will slow your attack or defense, depends on what hand u carry shield or weapon, or 2 handed weapon.

If a fencing weapon, or penetrating injury hit u on liver, lumbs, stomach... U can slowly die of bleeding depending on the severity of the injurie.

And a blunt weapon can crush bones....

I know this ll  maybe cause extreme difficulty to the player, but realism will be a great add to the full game.  (Maybe we can adjust this in difficult options?)

And please, include dismemberment!!  A lot of sharp blades and artillery needs to have some dismemberment  (Maybe a gore adjust like in vikings)

Thanks! And im waiting this game with much joy
crush bones then whats all the shiny armor for

Not all the troops have heavy armors (This must make that troops slower in movement attack and defense).  In fact, no heavy armor is rival for a heavy warhammer direct hit.  Crush armor and bones beneath it :p  (I saw a lot of History channel about ancient weapons and armor, i really love it.)

theres many option there at least  5 or 4 to able to make trebuchet is that sufficient enough? that if trebuchet not restricted to only build one.

Is there any news about some sort of "senate" or legislative institution on the imperial factions? Lust told us the all factions are monarquies... but there seems to be enought roman influence to presume some sort of parliament.

I hope TW saw a lot of movies like this one! This one is specially AMAZING, the siegie of Jerusalem was epic.

If dont saw Kingdom of Heaven, and love M&B, please see it!  It is long, like 3 and a half hours, but it is the best movie id ever seen about sieges and big army battles
In fact, i hope that a mod about this exists someday for bannerlords

funny thing, taleworlds should probably get rid of the two handed swords.

Just remember the M&B never has been, is not, and likely never will be strictly historically accurate. It is a game, after all, and games follow some of the same rules that Hollywood does. "Big swords are cool" is good enough.

I do actually hope though that they will have realistic weapon performance and weapon switching even though this would make most two-handed weapons a very bad idea because in order to use them you have to carry them to the enemy which means either running through a hail of arrows without shield, running through a hail of arrows balancing an oversized weapon in one hand and  shield in the other or having to ready the two handed weapon (not an easy task) while getting stabbed by your enemies.

If you struggle carrying a 2h sword in 1 hand, you probably shouldn't be going into battle at all. A relatively heavy 2h sword weighs about as much as a cricket bat. To put that into perspective, a light shield weighs three or four times that much and various shields used in history weighed almost ten times that much.

It's true that it might be inconvenient to carry a cricket bat everywhere with you (inconvenient, not difficult), but struggling to bring one into battle? That's rather silly.

Even if you have some kind of serious disability and can't carry it yourself, you can always strap it to your horse or get a squire to bring it for you.
