Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Developer Blog 14 - Destructible Merlons

Users who are viewing this thread

As is traditional, this blog covers our previous major event, goes talks a bit about our experience and what we showed. This time it's E3, possibly the biggest gaming event of the year and the first time we've ever attended with our own booth. Our reveal was Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord's siege gameplay, which came in the form of this trailer and the extended gameplay video below.

Blog 12 told us how fast time passes in Bannerlord. A year is 84 days.

that is why I gave a example of 12 weeks (12*7=84). But as anything related to game development it is open to change before release. Also mods can implement their own rules.

and as mentioned above 12 weeks doesn't mean much for the player perspective. Its more on the:

1) Real time x Traveling time (walking around the map. Example: 30 sec of real time = 12 ingame hours)

2) Real time x Resting time (waiting inside a town. Example: 30 sec of real time = 1 ingame week)

3) Real time x Waiting for Siege (Example: 30 sec of real time = 3 ingame days)

If, as a example, 1 ingame year is usually 10minutes of gameplay, you can see a 50 years campaign. Now if 1 ingame year takes 2 real life hours, you wouldn't expect a game to last 50 years (100 hours) of just normal time (not counting the battles, time walking inside a town, playing board games inside a tavern, etc)

my character age before me.

install mod: "immortal hero" and stay young forever

unless you are playing console without modding support. Then you will have to choose between dying old in your bed, or in battle

(that was a joke, as we have no idea how the game will actually work right now)

Well exactly, many people keep talking about playing as an heir, but I haven't seen any mention that this is a definite feature.

Last official word from Taleworlds was that an aging/inheritance system was going to be in place for the AI kingdoms. No word on whether it will affect your character.

they are careful about talking about features, as any thingy is really open to be removed before release.

Look at No Man's Sky as a example of bad PR, where devs talk too much too soon  :ohdear:

Well their first teaser trailer (which was released about 3 years ago) has more features and better looking than the game that is released. Sadly the guys' mouth was spreading lies like a river.
Anyways, I am confident in Taleworlds . Have been playing their game since 2010 December. The videos shown are more than satisfying and looking better than the previous videos or screenshots each time. Can not wait to play and craft my own sword. And oh the mods... the mods.. I can not wait

Whew.

Here's an idea: Under the "Show Casualties" option, make a sub-option to show only the player's kills and stuns.

A lot of ally messages can block much of the screen in no time, so some people turn "show casualties" off. But it's also satisfying to see your own kill and stun messages.

You can change the font type and size in M&B pretty easily. Just search on the forum, google it or download font used in AD from my signature  you can change the font texture to change the font style (textures/font.dds) and edit "Data/font_data.xml" to change the size. For example I have it like this:
Code:
<FontData width="4096" height="2048" padding="8" font_size="140" font_scale="100" line_spacing="80">

I hate the default font in Viking Conquest, so I had to change it and make it smaller. Now it's pretty clear!

You can use this in multiplayer also, which is pretty neat. Makes the font in chat etc. more clear.

THANKS for that!

Waiting for the new Bannerlord blog like:

It'll be ready when it's ready. They don't want to release it when it may still have some issues, they really care about their work and I'm glad for it. Although part of me has a feeling they are teasing us with the release date, telling us we may only get it next year, but actually surprise us and release it earlier.

Look at what this site says... I dont talk turkish and google traductor is very... innacurate.  And i dont know the veracity of the site but....
http://www.bannerlordturkiye.com/bannerlord-tarihi.html

They said, on september 27 we will know something important about release date  (they mention the fisrt months of 2017) and a Beta released on October.
Maybe the site is full of bull****s, but... We can dream about it
