Hello all!

As many of you may have noticed, we have been rather busy! Last week, we visited Cologne, Germany to attend Gamescom, the largest game conference in Europe. While there, we took appointments to demonstrate some Bannerlord gameplay to the world's media. Along with this, we released a few videos which were used as part of our presentation.

It has been great to see the excited response to the clips and we're very pleased that your feedback has been so positive! Of course, the game is still very much in development and so we had to make decisions about what to put in the videos and how it would be presented.

Here, we have compiled some of the highlights, along with a small smattering of new footage, which we want to present to you the community, along with a little explanation about some of the features.

Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/13

Not sure about you guys, but for me, the more information they release about the game, the more impatient I get. I freaking want this game, now. I'm still throwing money at my screen and nothing.

All these new features are fantastic. Imagine 1257AD for Bannerlord......

Me too. I am one very impatient puppy right now. I want it NOW, right now and not a moment later.
.......... but I suppose I am just going to have to wait like every one else. Just don't expect me to like it.

Replays recorded automatically, even from multiplayer? - Cool, very ****ing cool.

Being able to swing through multiple people with one swing from a weapon? - Please, for the love of god tell me that this is not in the multiplayer game. We don't want Chivalry: Bannerlord Warfare :'(.

I actually had a question about a rumor going around the mount and blade community. The rumor is that bannerlord will probably have a 2-4 player campaign option. Is this true? and if not it was also said that bannerlord is being made with mods in mind so would it be possible (and probably easier than mount and blade warband) for someone to make a multiplayer mod?

Yes, it has been confirmed that there will be 2-4 player multiplayer campaigns in Bannerlord, I think that it was in Blog 4 or something?

nope?.. TW said they didn't think multiplayer campaign would be in the game, too hard to code or something like that

I'm quite sure they confirmed it, but I believe it was only co-op with 2 players.

Q: You know there had been many successful modifications for the game, and one of the best known is the Strategus – cRPG, which allows the players to have some sort of multiplayer campaign. Will there be any feature like that in the game to come?
A: at this stage a multiplayer, competitive or cooperative looks still pretty difficult to make.

Please find a source then. I haven't heard anything regarding co-op except 'it's not likely'. it certainly wasn't in the blogs.

You are right. Source is very first interview wich been made even before bannerlord was announced. I guess you could find it in opening page of the main bannerlord thread (Interview by Nikephoros).

I still don't see how Co-Op can work for a game like Mount and Blade. It's just not that kind of game. And no one has so far presented a clear view of how the Co-Op mechanics would work without breaking the core game. Seriously if someone has a solid idea about it, I'm all ears and apparently so are the developers.

I know people generally frown upon what I'm about to say but I would pay for a mod like that. GAD!

If we can cut through multiple people (not that I'm hugely confident in the realism of this), will it be purely a statistical thing; i.e first is killed while the second is grazed, or will it be a physics based thing, the sword cutting the first i half, continuing through and grazing the second. I'd get behind some gore, if it was used sparingly enough.

It is REALLY Great. I'm waiting day and night for it to be released. But as a suggestion if I'm in the right place:

Let there be sound speaking system for the NPCs. because I got really tired of reading those Essays in Warband from the NPCs.

it took us 8 pages but we did it, we finally got that weird comment about sex workers in.
why does this seem to be such a common topic brought up apropros of nothing?

If there were naval battles they would have mentioned it already.
You don't need naval battles I think the map is large and will be a lot like calradia. You can get anywhere you want by walking.

Not to mention people will mod in naval battles anyway, assuming its as mod friendly as the first M&B
All they need to worry about is making the game and sharing a rough release date for us so we know when to go for holidays or pull sickies... haha

Nice devblog. The SP features are a great addition to the game, especially the village upgrading.

I have 2 main concerns:
1. Combat still looks rather clunky (at least in the scenes with the looters). Might just be me though
2. Two handed weapons crushing through multiple enemies. Not sure if this is a step in the right direction, but I have faith in TW that they won't make 2h-weapons even more OP.

Though that is balanced by the power of larger, stronger weapons to hit more than one foe with a single swing!

I'm seriously disappointed. This is NOT the right way to go. Mount&Blade was supposed to be as realistic as possible while still keeping it fun. This is a step into the fantasy world direction.

Yes, definitely this is one of the most disappointing "feature" that they want to introduce. To be honest, everything they shown regarding the combat system was quite disappointing in my opinion...don't get me wrong, everything else is just fantastic(the sieges, the weather, the new map, the economic features etc..), but the combat...LOOKS THE SAME.

The combat in warband is very good, probably the most impressive and interesting feature of the game! Because of that I was so hyped for this new game, and I thought that they were going to IMPROVE it.
Now, for what we know, this super-fantasy swing is the only new feature in the combat.

Why don't you allow to hit from every direction instead of just four?(if I'm not wrong, there was a kickstarter campaign from the people of the cRPG mod for a M&Blike game with this combat system)

Why don't you introduce some kind of physics INTO the animations, like Kindom Come: Deliverance or Exanima? I would have loved to see the weapon hitting the target and slide on the flesh instead of passing right through it. As in warband, looks like there is no actual feedback in the animation when you hit something (although probably there is still the "bouncy" animation when you hit something solid)...I know, they will improve(I HOPE) the animation during the developing, but I think that we won't see this kind of physics-based animation in this title.

Why don't make the character a bit more agile? I mean, still being realistic...I would like some kind of dodge(not a ROLL), more fluid movements(of course depending on the armor/weapons you are carrying), maybe the ability to climb over small walls(VERY BASIC parkour skills)

I don't know if they will introduce any of this feature that I listed, but, from the trailer, doesn't look like...
