Greetings all Bannerlord watchers and curious visitors! With this blog we hope to talk about our experience at E3, what we demonstrated and our reasons for attending. We may still be considered newcomers at E3, with this being our second year at the event, but each visit has provided us with a wealth of experience and knowledge which will help us to pursue bigger and more ambitious goals in the future!

@MadVader: How about this?

https://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/9

That blog pretty much killed many Warband mods, modders drooled over what they would be able to do with the new engine..

As much as I would love to get my hands on Bannerlord I would just like to say, Do not worry about giving us a release date until you feel ready. Mount&Blade is without a doubt my favorite game of all time. This companies passion for their game is one of the best things about them. You have always listened to the fans, from the early development of the original Mount&Blade all the way up to Bannerlord. You have never disappointed, something that few companies can say and one of the things that people love.

Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the game. I know I haven't been all that active on these forums (Not since 2005 when I was a rather annoying little Brat), but this needs to be said. Again Thank you for providing countless hours of fun.

That's a scene editor. One tool out of several needed for serious modding. It makes MP people happy, but modders not that much.

The engine blog was pretty damn cool at the time. You crazy man.

However as others have stated

And I don't think the blog killed any mods. What killed mods and parts of the modding community is the early announcement of the game and the long delay in delivery. People stopped existing projects and held off from new ones because ... well Bannerlord seemed just around the corner. Surely, they could wait a year or two and bring their great ideas to a much better platform. And wait they did.

... the worst part is that Bannerlord still seems just around the corner, so it remains very difficult to introduce or sustain projects at the current time.

I was part of the TVS development team, that was going rather well and then our main coder and scener saw that video... That was it... But indeed it was the early announcement and not that specific video as you claim what halted most projects

Of course nobody knew that 3 years later we would still not be playing it.. I agree, however, that with the coming of BL just around the corner many projects are on hold, just waiting to get their hands on the new engine.. Many projects though, like Kingdoms of Arda, are working for Bannerlord preparing 3D models and stuff

I love the Mount and Blade series, ever since I played it many many many years ago.
I trust that the new product will be good but I don't agree with being so CIA-tight-lipped about release dates and such.
Especially a game that now has garnered a following as it does now with a proven success record.

Even a game as obscure as Kingdom Come:grin:eliverance has managed to announce a release a date of February 13, 2018.
Granted, they haven't developed their own engine but they are a smaller company trying to be another Mount and Blade.
They've already charged full price to early release backers and people still play the outdated alpha demo they released.

I don't think I stand alone by saying that I'd be a little upset if that somewhat obscure indie company released a finished product before Taleworlds releases Bannerlord.

I'm not posting this to bash Taleworlds. I've been a longtime supporter and free marketer for the M&B series since its early days. It's just that I love this series and company and don't want to see it outdone -_-

they need to do that, as they have no history, no fan base and no money.

TW sold millions of copies of MB. It would be hard to believe they don't have enough cash to pay for the development + investment based on their success. So they don't need to do early access, beta, whatever, and they can go with the strategy that will give the most buck for their money.

Did they choose the best path for $$$ ? Only time will tell

Honestly, I'm annoyed by the lack of information, but I guess I can understand why they're so secretive about the release date and any new features. If they talk about a feature and they scratch it, the ****storm that follows will be out of proportions. Same goes with release date: If they say they will release the game this year and fail to do so, people will go insane. Maturity is lacking in the gaming community, and we can all agree on that ( Not saying I'm mature ). Although I think it's too late to remove/add major features after 5 to 7 years of development , I'm not one to question the decisions of a professional game development team. Sometimes that gets me wondering, though, how close they truly are to finishing the game, and I think it's far from completion. In any case, I'm 100% confident that the fact they didn't finish the game yet isn't due to lack of hard work, but due to complications they've faced in development, which no one could have predicted, and they did their best to solve them. Innovation comes with problems, and that's inevitable...
Having said that, I truly get how it is to be annoyed and angry with the lack of updates and information, and I think I speak for all of us who are disgruntled: We can't control how we feel about this matter. So try to be less judgemental when someone complains about the game. In other hand, I think us fans that are dissatisfied with the game's progress should consider the hardships of gaming development, and be more empathetic to the developers, who I'm sure are pouring their lives into the development of Bannerlord.

I called it, at the time i was working on various projects and was looking for people to help. All their responses where the same "no point we are waiting for bannerlord". I told everyone that Bannerlord still had a ways to go no one believed me. The early announcement really did kill WB tho or at least delivered a very heavy blow to its active player base

...said noone ever. Oh, Wait a second.

I dont understand why devs do not uncovered release date already. Like seriously why? The most horrible thing is uncertainty. Everyone knew that, devs included. No release date it's actualy possibly no game, and if everything is perfect as the say, why not tell somewhat approximate date? I am lusting to give money for next Mount and Blade game, but i cant and i dont know if it's happens even. Recent E3 was hell of a tease, i cant tell how much i enjoyed gameplay and everything about it. It looked like completely done and polished game, and this was like, i want it i want it NOW, and devs just stayed silent. This is strange, i am not ok with that.

I have been a fan for at least 7 years. You need to release Beta right now, and I will pay at least $200 dollars. Please I don't care how many bugs I experience, just release the damn game already!

I think it was something like 8 to 10 years when I first downloaded the first M&B game beta till the time it was actually finished, though I'm sure Armagon still thinks it's not quite finished
These guys have a real passion for their game and want it to be the best they can make it. They are making a new game engine, a new story and features every one dreamed of for the first M&B. These things take time and I'm inclined to wait for the finished product, knowing what a masterpiece the first M&B was at the time.

when was this M&B:B announced? and what year is this now?
there are still no words nor chatter on when players can have a taste on their own computer.
after last E3 I've lost all hope on this thing and moved it to my bottom wishlist.
bye Bannerlord, i'm saving up for other games now. when this gets released i'll probably buy this for my grandchildren. . .

".... We have so far avoided giving a release date thinking it would distract us from our attention to quality..."
5 years 5 years 5 years 5 years ??!!

Turn off the lights and let it go, winter is coming.
