great form, but to copy+paste don't we need the code, rather than the result? it isn't much work, just edit the post and add

"[/code] around your post. that gets a result like what i wrote those tags in.

I'm not sure what you mean compfreak. This thing is designed to be copy and pasted, and all the html should remain how it is. The links don't go to any searh results, they go directly to the most relevant thread.

what i mean is that if you just drag the mouse and press ctrl-c (or edit/copy for the mouse-oriented) then it will work correctly if put into a program like word, but not these forums. you need to have the code to insert into a post. i just selected your post and i'll put it below. it should end up as plaintext because the textbox for entering posts is just that, a textbox. it doesn't know what to do with this extra data about links and such. here is your post, just copy+pasted.



I've had this little idea to help with the constant re-ocurring questions in the forums.

Basically copy and post this little form whenever you see one of the standard newbie questions. Works a charm.

That seems to work. But i see your point about copy+pasting it directly.
Maybe i should post this thing up again without all the 'hey this is a cool idea' waffle at the top. So that people can quote it directly.

Well, i've just edited the first post, and cut out all the chat at the top, which enables me (and others) to quote the whole thing easier. If you want to know what the original post said, it said this:
