It's on sale for steam for 12$ and was wondering if it is worth it? how much depth does the game have or is it just hack and slash (just pure combat?). Does the game have any diplomatic/economic feel or features in it? Is the vanilla game good or does it need mods? not that I don't like mods, I just like to play the vanilla version first before improving it with mods to add more fun to the game, you should of seen the way i **** my oblivion with mods. The game looks really interesting and it has some really good reviews, I'm not really a graphic whore, I take gameplay/story/depth of a game more then anything else. I also heard the game is a getting a sequel Mount and Blade 2, so that's pretty cool. more reason to play this game if it's any good.

So please let me know if this game is good thanks in advance, and what stuff you guys like about it if you want to add your favorite things about this game.

Definitely worth it.
Yeah, it's not just hack and slash, it has depth
Yeah, it has diplomatic/economic features in it
Vanilla is sexy. Mods make it sexier

Yeah its a great game, buy it!

sweet thanks, and btw does singleplayer have some replay value, or does it lean more to multiplayer kind of game?

Biggest addition with Warband is the multiplayer, so don't expect a big difference in singleplayer from M&B vanilla.

And yes the singleplayer has some mayor replay values because you can do so many things. Apart from the 5 factions you can join you can also join up with a claimant of that faction and try to make him/her the leader. You could also start your own kingdom. Manage your lords, manage the fiefs, protect your country, attack others. Be diplomatic or just straight up attacking.

Isn't it possible to download Warband from Taleworlds and play for free until level 7 or thereabouts? That is how it was with the original M&B. If so, then you can try the game out first before deciding whether to buy it.

Yep. You can download the game from here and try it out till a certain level. Probably 6 or 8.

Well, singleplayer has a lot of replay value. Lots of new stuff you can try and then there are mods. Both for Singleplayer and for Multiplayer.

There are tournaments in Native. Native is the version without mods. There is the European Native League, which has a 1000 players registered. And those are just people who are in clans and want to play competitively. Besides that, there are players in public servers. So there is a lot of fun to be had

well thanks guys, i just bought it, but how do I install a mod, do I need to download all the patches before it? for example I want to download the diplomacy mod, would I need all the patches before it?

What a silly question, most if not all of the people  looking at this are going to like/love it.
Where do you find people that dislike/hate it..? :???:

I love warband and although i have no idea how many hours i got but i know its an unhealthy number

Edit: Multiplayer is the best part of this

Download Diplomacy then extract/install it in your Moldules folder, located in your game directory. Before that you should get the leatest patch from www.taleworlds.com though.

thank you kind sir, I have the latest warband patch already, thank you all for the help running the game now, I think I will love it

I just finished playing on a full 200 man server on Mount&Musket which is a mod for Warband. This game is certainly worth it.
