Mount and blade: Warband- Companions missing for months

Please let me know if you know of any way to fix this. I am playing on Xbox one native warband version. Recently I lost two companions completely, they just disappeared. It was Artimenner and Jeremus and I lost both of them the same way.

I appointed them to be my minister because I started my own kingdom and I know they don't like each other so when one was in my party I made the other a minister. So one day I went to get Artimenner and make him rejoin my party and make Jeremus the minister but when I told Artimenner to rejoin me he never did. I figured he was mad and would reappear in a month or two in game time. But he never did. So then I went to go get Jeremus and just make my wife the minister and the same thing happened. Artimenner has been missing for 8 months in game time and Jeremus 6 months. When I look at reports and look at companion statuses it says attempting to rejoin party. Is there a way to make this happen faster or are they just gone forever? Has this happened to anyone else, is this common?

Also since I am on the Xbox one version it seems there is no way to save a game under a different name so that I could go back to certain times if I wanted to. If anyone knows how you can do this on the Xbox version I would really appreciate it if you let me know thanks.

Did you try to ask a traveler where they were to see if they are waiting in a tavern in one of the cities?

Make sure you have room in your party for both of them and wait three days straight. If that doesn't work, I don't know what will.
