I made one. It was a pain in the butt too (took me like three weeks). But this game is worth it.

The footage that I used here was grainy, difficult to work with and capture and of course it dropped frames like crap. I might have the means to make a better one if Armagon thought they might be able to use it.

Legal Crap:
This file is to be distributed freely as a labor of love to Mount&Blade.

So what does everyone think?

The only problem I see is that your framerate is pretty horrible and it shows on the video.

I noticed that the music was credited to freeplaymusic.com ... I don't know the site so is using their music for a commercial game's advertisement allowed?

Very good...

I think it would be an excellent promo vid.

But try to get some lancing in there, and perhaps an odd crossbow. It should be as diverse as possible (so some good armoured fellows would be nice too).

Perhaps a small section of 'Customize your style of fighting' (buying weapons and eqipment, then seeing it in action).
 
looks good. i would add more ground hand-to-hand combat though. there's too much riding past infantry and swipe them scenes. i would also end with a scene of knights charging into each other (BYOK and go attack some dark knights). higher resolution wouldn't hurt either.
 
That was pretty damn cool :grin:

I wonder if it's possible to speed up the game itself? A full on mêlée at close to those speeds would be much more exciting.

Okay.. the 'explore the expansive world' bit could a stretch but I expect great things from armagan to meet our hopes and dreams :smile:

Really nice one. Bit more footcombat would be nice. As for the video itself, it really needs to have a higher resolution and better framerate cause it's rather unfocused and bit hard to actually see some things, and of course the choppyness...

Apart from that, totally awesome :grin:
 
Very very cool. I agree, some more on-foot fighting would be good. I really like the last bit where it's switching between different characters riding toward you on horses... might be neat to do a sort of progression, start off like a peasent on a crappy horse, show various stages and end with an armored knight on a bad ass charger. If you know what I mean.

by the way, sweet vid! I only notice a lack of lancing and armoured guys, sorry.
 
Yeah it would be nice to see the player (armoured) leading a host of knights against Dark Knights in lancing... You could possibly even include a shot where the player gets lanced out of the saddle by a Darkie withthe words "Death is never far away".
 
It was incredible.

Especially it shows other aspects of game than combat (Character creation, party window and world map). It was more impressive when you see the scenes are edited to fit the music's rythm.
 
An attemp to answer everyone's questions at once:

Well, first off I had to run the game in windowed mode to avoid too much frame dropping. Yes believe it or not my original clips are worse. But because it was windowed I got poor resolution. Further more it made it more difficult to play (cause it's windowed) about the only I could do well was the ride-bys. Further more, freeplaymusic.com's files are completely royalty free for television broadcasts. I think I need to ask their permision to use it in something other than a TV broadcast. However, since the video is not being sold in any way, shape or form I don't think it violates their contract.

When I move my operation to another setup I should have more control over my footage (but I'll have more to edit). I'll also be able to play the game in full screen mode. That will allow me to make a much more diverse video (and probably longer too).

The last difficulty that I've had is that I don't have a full version of the game yet (computer at home isn't fast enough to run it). So getting a huge amount of diversity with armor and different weapons will be challenging but I'm going to go for it.

And for those who asked the programs that I used were:

AutoScreenRecorder Free - for capturing video clips
Adobe Premiere 6.0 - for editing and making the clips look less like crap

I think I addressed everything... okay then.
 
Guys , you did an excelent job . I wish I could do something like that but I'm a joke about doing that :cry: :cry: Hope you find the strenght (and time) to do even better . :wink:

EDIT: You could even host it as a torrent if you can't get a host for a big movie file....
