Mount and Blade Parry

Hello everyone.

I'm encountering a little problem. I'm playing in multiplaying, therefore blocking is very important.

But here it is, everyone uses mouse orientation for blocking, but i'm way more used to blocking based upon character's movement.

The problem is the fact i've played alot on another game (Pirates Vikings and Knight) and blocking was exactly the contrary of Mount and Blade. To sum up parrying to the right was triggered by a movement to the left, and parrying to the left triggered by a movement to the right.

I'm therefore totally confused, i'm doing the exact contrary for all the blocks.

Is there anything I could do? Change the controls, or something specific in the game?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah i know, but i hate this, cause in wow etc i'm moving all the time the camera, so... it makes me failing all of my block when using mouse blocking

nobody said it was gonna be easy
that just makes it more satisfying when you get it.

Try blocking by movement keys? You might like that more. But the trick with mouse blocking is to move the camera is little as possible to get the block. Just go practice on bots for hours at a time, and you will get it.

Yeah i know that i can get it ... but i was a pretty ****ing good player in pvk, i would like use my skill in this game, in m&blade

Blocking isn't really hard to learn. If you don't have someone to help teach you, go into the tutorial and do the combat trials vs the trainer. You can continuously do that and it will help you learn to block (or chamber) quite easily.

Nothing inherently wrong with movement key blocking. It's likely to be a disadvantage somewhat against multiple opponents when you're not fighting with a shield (99% of the time you are, or should be anyway). But you can make up for it with extra mouse freedom. For duels, certain theory suggests that blocking with movement keys is better and there have certainly been top level duelists who use it (notably Morii). Again there are advantages and disadvantages. If you're comfortable with one mode and you work hard enough, I don't think you would be inherently limited from reaching a very high level of play.

Thank you for advice Mahud

#Captainlust : Yeah i think that movement could be good too, the only problem is that i would need the opposite (right --> left / left --> right / [...] )
