Hi

As a avid M&B player, since the first one, I been waiting for Bannerlord for a long time. I know this is still in EA, so I hope this will change.

In all the previous games, mounted combat was one of the valued combat styles, and one of the most fun. Sadly in Bannerlord, this has been reduced by too much. It seems nearly impossible to hit anything from horseback. Countless times I have to watch as cut and thrust after cut and thrust just pass through the enemy not touching them.

This is a huge frustration. Please see if you can fix the hitboxes for mounted combat. This is such a key important part of the game. It should not be frustrating.

Thanks for all the hard work. Loving the game and with time I am sure it will become as great and even better as it's predecessor .

Mounted combat is more fun, especially once you get used to double tapping W and S for more maneuverability and speed, it's definitely more satisfying than warband

Actually, hiting from horseback is rly not immposible. You just have to learn, which direction you have to aim to actually hit someone or use longer weapons.

Mounted combat is easy in bannerlord. Your just not very good at it.

Thanks for the replies, and advice, but I dont need these kind of asshats. So can close this. Wont be back in this forums.

A bit touchy are you...

I don't completely condone someone who just says something like "gitgud", but at the same time I find what you did just as silly, just because YOU can't hit anything doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it... it might just mean that you need some practice, I can hit anything pretty fine, and to me, overall, it feels way better than it did in warband.

So yeah, just practice, if you're using anything other than polearms from horseback just pick whatever has the greatest reach, there's nothing wrong with the hitboxes, you just need to get the timing and angle right, and that requires practice.

Baca is right, double tapping W and S is the key. It's really hard with a non-spear weapon to hit an infantry unit from horseback in a high speed, it's simply too hard to get to a distance that is close enough.
Chasing down the routing units with this technique would be a really good practice, and if you were riding a stumper horse it would be even better for the practice because this horse is slow. And once you get used to the attack window in Bannerlord, you can switch to a better horse and start to practice with Forest Bandits, charge at them from the flank when you have your shield wall infantry advancing and distracting them in the front.

Problem is not with the hitboxes, combat just works differently from warband. While using sword and lances, think like there is an invisible crosshair on the screen and try to target enemy troops while the swing/thrust animation playing.

I see what you are saying. i was thinking the same. Lance pike on horse are easy in BL 2 Handed weapons work fine hitting inf or cav. but the smaller single hand swords are a wast of time. 90% charging into inf they have a sword and reach you but you always seem to miss. now dont say get used to it. its just not right. i was great on horse back in SP WB and MP WB. and used to play with the best...So use 2 handed weapons

The swing animation changing due to so any factors is incredibly wonky. And I think some 2h swords are straight up bugged.

The rest are ok, but it still feels so weird to have to swing the camera so drastically to be able to hit infantry right against the side of the mount.

As somone who was used to previous M&B mounted combat i must say that it's different in Bannerlord. It's quite good and more realistic. From my experience You need to keep a little more distance than in previous M&B. After practicing i'm hitting accurately 99% of the time.

Personally I find it just about right. It was a bit... mindless in Warband. Weapon reach also plays a big role - short weapons are not good for horseback use, obviously.

you have to also keep in my in bannerlord it also matters which part of your weapon you are hitting your enemy, there is a possiblty your distance might be off,for example if you are too close you might hit with handle part of your weapon in that case less or no dmg

The camera angle needed to hit infantry beside you, as well as the weapon reach are more important than ever. The animations are different so you will have to adapt to it. Use a long-reaching sweeping pole-arm as that can hit them consistently with Warband angles.

One thing thats getting me is. if you use say a 1 hand weapon reach 113 and a 2 handed weapon reach 113 , the 2 handed is much better on horse than the 1 handed. this is swing hits much the same.
