Character file: General Nathaniel David Specific
Nathaniel Specific, son of Philip and Ester and brother of Gregor, Edward, and Brenda, is one of the youngest generals of Vaegir, at twenty years of age. He is bordering on six feet in height, has brilliant blond hair and stone-grey eyes, and is as strong or stronger than almost anyone of his age. After a khergit attack on his family's home, which orphaned him and forced him to live in the streets, he turned his attention to war. He had been trained well by his father, but became truly great after spending some time training with an old man who showed how even great strength could be beaten by agility and good swordwork. During his training, Nathaniel became cocky and overconfident, but was lucky when he was taught a valuable lesson by way of a fisticuffs in a tavern, which landed him up for several days in the local healers, instead of on the battlefield. When the War began, Nathaniel formed a group which he dubbed The First People's Brigade of Calradia, whose clearly stated purpose was to reunite Calradia under one banner. At first, the venture was neutral in its approach, but became increasingly Vaegir as time went by. Men flocked by the hundreds to support the brigade, and it was soon quite large and effective in all that it did. General Specific has gained wisdom beyond his years by making it a constant point to never make the same mistake twice. His efforts helped reunite Calradia, along with those of his fellow commanders Padua, Llew, and Robin. However, as the events took place to cause the reunion, A new enemy presented itself in the form of the dark knights. Specific was injured badly while being interrogated by Brutus, the Knights' commander, and has several broken ribs and a broken leg. His overall status is unknown, although it is known that he was extracted for the Knights' camp.
Trivial matters (For fun):
1) Although he is sure that his father, mother, and sister are all dead, Nathaniel has never found any trace of his brothers, Gregor and Edward.
2) Nathaniel goes by Nathaniel, Specific, and Nathan (with his closer friends).
3) Nathaniel keeps several strings of beads with him, not for luck, but to remind him of his mistakes (he adds a bead for every mistake).

Character file: Richard Elias Montrose
Son of William and Eliza and brother of Charles Montrose, Richard Montrose is a brilliant tactician and fighter, with dark brown hair, light green eyes, and a distinguishing scar running along the length of his right cheek. He is an exceptionally tall man, and makes use of his height in battle. He is a peculiar breed of warrior, and barely ever uses a sword unless it is absolutely necessary. Instead, he fights with a pair of twin daggers, which he uses with surprising skill, which he owes mostly to his wonderful agility. He fought in the First Calradian War, a set of skirmishes between Vaegirs and Swadians that foretold the war that was to follow. After this, he left Calradia with his father to fight in a war that threatened to spread to Calradia. Then he settled with his father in Hulias, a small city on the mainland near Calradia, and has stayed there for quite a long while. His current location is unknown, although all clues point to him still living in Hulias.
Trivial matters (For fun):
1) Richard is afraid of heights.
2) Richard doesn't use swords because he doesn't seem able to control them sufficiently.
3) Richard started training in his unique technique of fighting at age 15.
4) Richard was betrothed to the daughter of Edwin St. Vincent, but they were separated two days before their wedding by a surprise attack by the Swadians. Miss St. Vincent was found dead a few days after.
