Most powerful lance/spear?

Hello forum, I'm recently bought the full version of Mount & Blade, and so far I'm really enjoying it. The only trouble is I'm having a hard time finding a new spear. The first weapon I bought was my double sided lance. I saved up a bunch of money (or what seemed like a lot at the time) by fighting over and over in the arena, and bought it. Currently I'm level 21 with a full set of black armor, and a decent axe and shield, but the weapon I still use most often is my lance. No matter where I look I can't find a more powerful one, I would assume there are better ones out there, though, because I bought the lance for 3800 gold or so, and it seems like I should be able to find a nicer one.

Anyways, any tips for finding a superior lance? I've encountered a decent amount of black knights so far, but to the best of my knowledge none of them have dropped a better weapon.

I usually use the great lance if i use one at all. Sometimes i use the joustiing lance to take prisoners. But, great lance pretty much owns

Yeah, Great lance isn't the most powerful, but it has the longest reach, which counts for more than sheer power. Don't get me wrong, a single hit with its couched attack will kill most enemies instantly.

How does one go about getting the great lance? I haven't had any luck finding it in shops.

Woot, reinforced black chestplate and SOW just dropped for me. Just letting you guys know some more useless facts.

yep great lance is imo the best lance/polearm. it's also good to carry with you a bluntweapon like.. polehammer or jousting lance, and a polearm with slashing attack (glaive)
