Hey guys, sorry I haven't replied, still haven't gotten the internet connected at my new place yet.
I sent the last of the dimensions to the perspex worker on the weekend and finally managed to track down someone to make the last component I needed (the PSU extension cable with port). I've got everything set up, as soon as the case is done I just need to grab the oil and I'll be uploading pics. If I get the internet set up soon I'll put up some pics of the components sitting on my lounge room floor.
Although I've yet to decide what game I'll play on it first. At the moment I'm thinking DOSBOX'd Sword of the Samurai though.
Aye, that did indeed happen. Three computer stores later and I finally found the right ones, I put it together last night. Doing a test run of the hardware now to make sure nothing's broken, all seems pretty great.
Sorry 'bout the pics, taken with my laptops webcam:
The first boot.
Patented lying-on-a-shelf-technology.
Mostly everythings been on hold the last month or so because I've been busy with uni work/seeing my girlfriend off to Japan/beeing too poor to afford parts, but everythings back on track now. I got the call from the guy making the case a few hours ago, so it's finally done. I'll be picking it up monday, and will post picks when I do.
I know I've said this before, but it should be done in about a fortnight or so. I hope.
It's looking awesome moss . Do you plan to just upgrade components and keep the case/oil system for the future? Can't wait to see it when it's finished.
I tried to future proof the computer a little with the components I bought, so hopefully I won't need to be upgrading it all that soon, but when the time comes I'll just do an oil drain and swap things out.
Finally, after over a month of delays, the case is done!
Apologies for yet more grainy pics, had to use my laptops webcam:
Final cost of case: $190 AU
All that's left now is to build the power switch (hopefully I'll be able to get a hold of a soldering iron and do it myself, if not I'll have to have one made up) and put the piping in for the pump.
