Morrowind on Xbox

I tried using the search function, but then again it didn't work for me (i.e. I couldn't find any topics related to Morrowind).

I recently purchased an Xbox 360 and I am trying to get ahold of a Morrowind copy. Now I did saw an original Morrowind Game of the Year copy, but I didn't have my wallet with me. When I came back from home where I picked up my wallet, it was already sold. Worth mentioning; the price tag said it was 3 Euros.

Now I almost tried everything; I am trying to get ahold of another original Morrowind GOTY copy. I tried eBay as well, but those usually go for 50 Dollars because "it's such a rare product".

Now, the reason I opened this topic, is to ask you; Is it really worth the effort to buy a Morrowind GOTY when you can buy a regular Morrowind copy instead? On the Dutch eBay they sell Morrowind copies in abundance, even the original ones. But a Morrowind GOTY is nowhere to be found, except on eBay where they ask ridiculous prices.

Well, the GOTY version does two things, IIRC.

1. It adds the expansions.
2. It has some bugfixes that are otherwise only attainable on computer.

You'll have to decide for yourself if it's worth it. You can probably get the expansions separately.

I'm not too familiar with how Xboxes work, but I do know MW was on the first Xbox, not on the 360. Is it backwards compatible?

Also, I'd argue you're better off getting it for the PC. It's an ancient game, it'll run fine on anything, and it's much, much better with mods.

It works, but the backwards compatibility is a bit bad. The FPS is worse than on original xbox and the loading times are ridiculous.

OP: You'll be better off buying the thing for PC. Even the crappiest of modern laptops should be able to run it just fine, and you'll be able to get mods as well.

EDIT: Oh yeah, definitely get the GOTY version.

I don't think you can use the console on xbox, so you'd be better off with pc version.
Just in case a quest, a character or an item bugs for some reason.

Yup, although I don't recall that ever happening to me on my Xbox Morrowind GOTY. Anyway, I'm not a PC GAMING MASTER RACE twerp, but I'm having a hard time figuring out why you should get the xbox morrowind over a PC version when the game's 10+ years old and probably runs fine on modern calculators. Unless you're a collector or something.

It will probably be cheaper to get on the PC anyway, what with the holiday sales.

p.s. I have regular morrowind on xbox, and tried it on 360, it was not compatible.  You sure it was?

Just popped both editions in.( original and the one with the expansions) They both work fine. If you can just get the PC version. I remember  Raven Rock not being fully fleshed out on the console version. ....Rip Falx Carius. Poor bastard.

Definitely aim for the PC version. It's on sale regularly (especially at this time of year), and the mods are half the reason to play the game.

You could always get it on PC and run either SkyWind or Morroblivion. I've only tried Morroblivion and it wasn't that bad.

Ermm ok.  This was taken with a computer that's 3 years old.
