Morgh's M&B WB/WFAS Editor v1.50

Users who are viewing this thread

The download link doesn't work and also does this work for 1257 AD? All I want to do is change the name of vessels and such. Thank you.

Here's my issue.  So I'm editing existing troops and not trying to create new ones.  I update, save, and start a new game.  Nothing has changed.  I check the troops.txt file and everything is the same as if I haven't changed anything.  I reload the editor and its showing everything as I left it, all troops have been edited and changed.  I'm not sure why the .txt files are default but the editor shows different.  Any ideas?

Some things to double check, if you have:
-the right module selected.
-the right MB installation (steam or non etc) selected.
-text files not source selected at morgh's start up.
-the right troop selected (not an MP troop or something).

Out of interest why are you running such an old MB version ?

The only module I have selected is "native".
I'm editing in text.
I have the correct troops files selected, not mp.

I'll try and update to the newest version.
Thanks for the reply

Updating to the newest version will overwrite the changes you made. Though since your text file is still default outside of the editor it might not make much of a difference...

Are your MB files somewhere where they cannot be edited (lack of permission or something) maybe? Could possibly try running Morgh's in admin mode.

I updated to the latest version.  All files still show as being edited in Morghs program, however it doesn't show in game.  Also, if I open troops.txt it still appears to be default.

When trying to edit anything, I've been getting nothing but crashes lately. Is there a reason for this?

I've been tryna add new troops into the Acok mod but none of them seem to be appearing ingame.

I've ran morgh's in admin mode, made sure to update and select proper upgrade path, started a new game but still no luck.

Help would be appreciated.

Hi Morgh. You have created a great tool, thanks for that. Unfortunately, I have encounter 2 errors when modifying "1812 Russian Campaign" mod, which is weird since I have made the same little modification for all mods I have, only adding a rifle. There are:

Hope you can help me. And again, thanks.

Does anyone know if this editor can be used with the Brytenwalda mod to take troops from my lords, and put them into my party instead?

I am looking to take back the troops from my town that my marshall took into his own army. Apparently this is intentional in Brytenwalda, however it is one of the most shocking  and infuriating  "features" I have ever come across in any mod.

Hundreds of troops were taken by the marshall (this includes Dena Pirates and Franks which are difficult to obtain), and I am looking to take them back with an editor (if that is at all possible). Thank you!

Nope, you'd use the save-editor for that kind of thing. Thought remember it can't create new stacks of troops, only change their type and number. So you can't add group of 20 dena pirates, but you can change a stack of 3 farmers into a stack of 20 dena pirates. If you have more questions ask in the thread for that tool.

Hey,

Does anyone know if you can fit more than 5 units into a party in "parties.txt?" I would like to fit in more, to add the specialist troops to a "camp" so you can get them whenever you want, without searching. I already tried just editing the .txt without Morgh's but that ended up crashing Warband.

If anyone could help me, let me know.

Morgh you may be long gone, but just wanted to thank you for making this program.

There are 2 mods which I almost gave up on until I found your editor, then the little tweaks which were needed could be made and I've had a really good time since then.

Your work's appreciated, many thanks

Cool this thread is still active!

Hey guys I have a question: I helped a bunch of guys who started a mod using txt files (mainly to modify and rename troops) to add two more factions. So I had to set up a clean module, added the factions with everything. Now I wonder if there is ANY WAY to somehow get the data from the troops txt into the module-troops.py file without recreating everything manually?

I mean morghs can edit python and txt files - so is it possible to copy from .txt and paste into .py somehow?
Or does anyone know another way?

I wasted hours trying to get the troops into the compiled txt files at least but that just leads to the weirdest bugs.
Thanks in advance!

yes, you need to write a tool that reverts the process_troops.py. You will need know-how in coding and Python. A small project like this is quite easy, 30min or so.

no you won't find a tool like that in the forum, as it is not allowed to post links.
