Hi there, I am wondering how long it will take for the changes I have made to take effect. All I have done is edit names, and edit faction names. I have not changed anything else.

I have deleted all my saved games from Native, and from my modual with the changes that I call "PrecociousModual" I have read a good number of fixes saying to start a new game, but when I start a new game none of the changes are in place. The new game was started from the "PrecociousModual" and not the native version.

My version of the game is 1.153, downloaded and paid for from the gamestop PC downloads extension. I physically cannot install any of the updates for the game because it gives me an invalid licence error. Yet I have the product key, and the game runs just fine, native.

Can you help?

Did you create a new Module folder, or did you edit the Native module?

Did you create a new Module folder, or did you edit the Native module?

Yes, the new modual folder was called "PrecociousModual"

Iv been screwing with it some more, and iv noticed that even though iv updated the name, and saved it. It is not actually changing it in the games files. The new names only display when Morge's is open. It's not actually changing the modual files at all.

it still says kindom of swadia....rather than Ruby_Lane on the notepad document.

Notepad is not allowing me to make any changes to it manually, even though I have full admin rights and ability's on my machine.

Try the "Modding without Tools" and see if that works. You might have selected the Native module folder in the Editor as well, which means you are editing the Native game. If you believe that might be the case, try heading in-game, loading the Native module.

I tried modding without tools first, it will not let me save any of the changes in Notepad even though I have taken ownership of my PC manually, and given myself full permissions for everything. A problem I never had with vista, damn you Win7.

I just tried the Native version out, no changes there.

Any idea's?
Cause I am quite bored with native, and nobody offers a pre-made mod that suits my needs. Or game version. ( stuff like this happens all the time no matter what game im messing with, no matter what comp, OS, things just have a tendency to not work for no real reason )

I can successfully access the Items and the Factions files only but not the other 3, Ie.  (troops, parties & parties templates)

redownload, see if that helps, and check if Europe 1200 actually has the files you're looking to edit.

redownload, see if that helps, and check if Europe 1200 actually has the files you're looking to edit.

I have the latest version 1.40 , it works fine for all files in Native for example.

As far as I can tell both the native module folders and the E1200 have the same files...  but what is very noticeable is that the (E1200)  Troop.txt file size is 2,818kb and the the Native Troop.txt file is only 485kb. 

Could it be this...the file is so big?

But again it came up with an error:  "Error # 6 Overflow"

If it is a file size issue i was wondering if I could trick the editors by splitting the E1200 file in to 1/3's for example and then after editing combine them again into a whole? 

I really only want to copy what another player did in Floris.... ie. I want to change all the lords that have "0" for shield and give them at least 3 or 4...it should make them tougher.    That would be cool! 


EDIT...I think I did it I had to use HokieBT's troop editor however. 

So I  created a New troops.txt  (smaller in size only 932 entries for the lords I wanted to change).  I then copied and pasted those edited files OVER the original ones.  I was just using "notepad" but If anyone wants to do this, be certain to create your new file under the "UT-8" standard.
