More kinds of encounters is always a plus!

1) Neutral caravans

Surely not all merchants have taken up a side in the war. Naturally, there should be some mercenary caravan guards escorting trade goods from Zendar and the Salt Mines to every city in the country. They could carry some nice loot and have some high end neutral units (EG, mercenaries and hired blades) and count as innocents; in other words, if you attack a neutral caravan, you upset both the Swadians and the Vaegirs, neither of whom appreciate attacks on innocent peoples.

These caravans could also deal with you, somewhat like a mobile shop...

2) Mercenary armies for hire

Another nice thought would be to have some roving mercenaries who will join your forces (for a price!) Perhaps sometimes they could have an experienced mercenary captain who, if hired, would become another hero for your forces...

Or you could always attack the armies and take their equipment .

3) Nobles (non-quest).

It'd be nice to be able to capture nobles on your own and receive the WHOLE ransom sum, as opposed to the fraction that your goldmongering lords pay when you capture enemy noblemen for them.

The list goes on... there are so many possibilities for new army types. The only issue is figuring out where to fit them in logically. ^^

Even though this has been brought up before i will still post, great idea, as this actually is a great idea that i think will be in the final release.

I aint flamin(nor do i want to), and hope you post with more cool ideas soon.

Yeah gret idea there! The caravans could be slave merchant, where you could hire a new tech tree of units starting from slaves and then onwards, maybe not the strongest of unit but surely cheaper than ordinary blades
