More up-to-date version of the Freelancer mod?

The freelancer mod version in the game seems pretty old, there's several bugs, for example not being promoted if not having the window selected on promotion day. You also cannot get any loot, and if you're captured your XP progression to promotion is reset. The newer versions don't have these issues.

Would someone be able/interested in updating to a newer freelancer version and publish as a submod? I'd really love that, as the freelancer feature is great and thematic, but I'm not nearly skilled enough to do it myself.

I talked to DrTomas from the 1257AD dev team.  In their mod it is possible to keep items picked up during battle.  He told me how to restore that feature in Brytenwalda but I couldn't get it to work.  I've been in contact with Idibil about the problem.  Hopefully we can get this feature restored at some point!

on the topic of freelancer for V1.4 is there a required renown? Whatever lord I go to become a soldier he never has the option for me to join him, any help would be awesome

I remember getting it to work before on my other PC but when I did a new install(which was also a newer version) I no longer had the option to become a soldier
