Looks to me that M&B works only on windows(which i do not like at all) and i was wondering if you (developers) plan to make M&B for Linux, or MACs... that, for one, would enable a whole lot of people to play M&B and maybe buy it, thus increasing your income...

compiling from windows(since M&B does not use anything windows-only) from source should not be too hard..
hope you will make it for linux/macs!!

Well, since Windows is like 90% of the home market and linux users only get open-source games, he won't really be able to get a lot more money. It is just a nice thing to do.

It wouldn't be hard to compile for other systems if written in a language like java, but this game seems to be written in C (++) (#). I know there are C (++) compilers for Linux, but you can't even make the same code work for two Windows C compilers. Those will obviously be very different from Windows compilers. And besides, it does use Windows-only components. Direct3d is part of DirectX, isn't it? So unless you know of an emulator that makes D3d work on unix-based systems, neither Mac nor linux ports are possible. Ports would be lots of work for little reward.

Despite the above, I would also like it if he could, since I'm going to convert a couple old machines to linux.

It COULD work in linux with winex as is, d3d shouldnt be a huge problem itself for linux if you use a proper program for it, winex runs alot of mainstream d3d games to my knowledge.

strange, i thought i posted this...
D3D CAN run on linux...
and on mac it should as well

mac people could buy the game since there are very few mac games...

Mac users don't play games!!!!
And don't think of mentioning Myst.. Thats not a game it's a pretty slideshow...

uh... im kinda a *mac user* (just kinda, you know... kinda) and uh, i kinda do play kinda things called games...
and i kinda develop them......

just dont talk about stuff you dont know man
PCs suck! i mean the x86 architecture is prehistoric, uses a *load of power and does about half of what a G4 does....
and so does windows

Sure Kroc, A PC with XP might do half as much as a G4, but also at half the price.. ;)

Anyway, it was a good natured jest, not intended to start a my comp is better than yours thing...
I have used Macs in the past, and they do have their pluses over a PC, a good game box just isn't one of them..

Although I do remember playing this sim on one once, It was created by a team of uni students and you managed a medieval estate (in france?) and had to work your way up the ladder of nobility...
It was purly text based, but addictively chalenging... Wish I could play it again...

Rebels! They are not sheep so they buy Apple computers and ride Indian motorbikes. And smoke English cigarettes. And entertain themselves by listening to really old Jethroe Tull music. God they are good people. I have an IBM computer because I am not computer savvy. And even though I never visited a porn site (I'm an old fashion guy so I buy the magazines) I still have 100 E-mails from penis enlargement and porno sites anyway. What do they know about me that I don't know?
