More immersive feature to distinguish allies/enemies

I'm speaking of these markers which hover over the heads of allies to distinguish them from enemies. Apparently Bannerlord will have them too. Go to 02:27 https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ZpkrdMAyCmo

I hate them with a passion. They are an abomination and need to die. It seems to me that tw wastes their efforts when they create a gameworld as immersive as possible and then put these eyesores smack right in the middle.

I would really like to see something more realistic and less intrusive. F. ex. I read that medieval armies often had their troops wearing a ribbon round the upper arm or round the helmet. True, it would be less visible, but a little confusion now and then only improves the gaming experience. Or at least make the markers smaller. I don't need them big enough to recognize the banner. (Edit: f.ex. a small, neutral, semi-transparent diamond which only appears if you move the center of your view over it.)

At least give us the option of a minimal marker.

I can't be the only one who feels this way. Anyone else wants them gone?

I think, this may have suggested sometime ago if recollection serve right.
