More factions!

I think it would be quite nice to have at least two more factions, although this would most likely mean expanding the map a bit.
It would be cool to have an 'oriental' faction (and it would please the Anime fans out there, who might buy the game just to earn the Samurai armour and leave it at that ).
Then you could convert the Swadians to a sort of Arabic-type thing (Are they already? Most of their names have an Arab/East Europe steppe sound), and the Vaegers could be Europeans.
The third could be somebody else, or maybe a made up culture.

Overall, adding more factions would mean more politics, which (IMO) would make the game more fun. Maybe there would be an option for a player to start his own faction (taking over towns and such), or take over another faction (king makes you his heir, or you launch a coup).

And it would add the storyline (if there will be one).

Yeah! Then my Knight, Sir Stronginthearm the Violently Prudish, could start his own faction, the Proud Freehold of Ultimateopolistonhamshire. We could instate a national dress code mandating that all sleeves be made of beef jerky! Seriously, though, me likes. More factions=good, but also=a hell of a lot more work. I'm guessing that there are gonna be more factions in the game anyway, because of those sections of the map that you can't get to.

i agree. and i would like having an expanded map. warband needs one more desert faction.and a faction that lives in a jungle area.

An African faction with a large amount of cheap troops would be cool. Big shields and spears, maybe with clubs? An Aztec-type faction would also be awesome. Oriental would be very interesting. Probably fast weapons with not so much damage. India would also be neat. ELEPHANTS!

It was suggested sh*tload of times already.
1st we already have arabic styled faction (Sarranids)
2nd NO DAMN ASIANS!
Calradia is supposed to be placed in Medieval Europe and middle east and be at least a little realistic.

It really annoys me when people suggest something even without thinking a little bit more about their ideas.. :/

Also, there already IS an option to make your own Kingdom. In fact, politics in Warband are dramatically underdeveloped, but there is such a feature.

^and i hate it when no one has imagination , kuroinekoupl.

i think its a great idea, dont u ever get bored with the same factions?

Why do you think, that I have no imagination? Just because I don't like fantasy elements in game, which is supposed to be realistic?

Also, I'm not opposing the idea of adding new factions, but as long as such a suggestion will be unrealistic, I won't like it.

Did you actually read my post? This game (Warband) is supposed to be realistic. And most of players would prefer it to stay as it is.
If you want a fantasy game, then make a separated suggestion for a new game/expansion, but leave warband alone.
Also, I'm 100% sure, that they wont add fantasy elements to Warband.
Why? It'd be like shooting your own foot. They'd lost a lot of current and probably upcoming players.

Also, Warband is unique. Why? Because its realistic! You have ALOT of fantasy games everywhere!

Yes, I agree that there should be more faction than 6, but I prefer to have 6 realistic nations than 10 fantasy ones!

so then tell me, are the rodocks real, are the swadians real. is calradia real. no. so i'd think about wat u say in ur posts, half the stuff u say has nothing to do with realism.

While Mount&Blade is an RPG game, there are no magical elements involved. This means there is no mana or spells in the game instead, you get a realistic medieval setting.

medieval setting...
no asian factions

Rhodoks are Italians
Swiadians are French/German
Vaegirs are Russians/Slavic
Khergits are Mongols/Turks
Sarranids are Arabs. (Egypt)
Calradia is Europe and Middle east.

That's what I mean by realism. Is it that hard to understand?

i agree that warband is realistic medieval, but the factions are made up. but they are based on real faction/kingdoms/or wat ever u want to call them.

i see it ur way, so i will agree with wat ur saying

That was a quote from the FAQ, I even bolded the medieval part wich was my point

i know this, and my point is no one said anything about magic,i know its supposed to be medeival, but have u realised that they dont have flintlock pistles in medieval times. to make this game more realistic, i think that the flintlock pistle in the cheat menu (if u activated cheats) shouldnt be in the game

as you said, it is in the CHEAT menu...
are cheats realistic?
I would love to have a cntrl+x in my bank account xD

Ugh,there are so many mods with more factions, realistic and non realistic, but If someone want to play Calradia with more factions I would recommend Warring states mod,it has diplomacy mod included and it's quite interesting!Just an advice!

agh... i was making a point, i wasnt saying i used cheats. and if want the game to be so realistic, then how come the kergits(or wat ever they are called) included in this game. it is supposed to be europe, not asia.

and dont forget the desert faction(i cant remember how to spell their name), im so sure they were in europe.

anyway, im done with this,if i cant make u see how un realistic warband is about certain things, then i might as well not continue
