Morale & Tips on Improving It

I don't know if this is just me, but there's this state in the morale report called the Army Size stat that lowers morale, which has always been there in the M&B series. However, in L'aigle, this number seems to be extremelyexaggerated, making it near impossible to support an army of about 90+, since the Army Size stat would be about only 5-10 lower than the number of troops you have. I've tried both resting for a week, which only made the situation worse. I also tried completely filling my inventory with food, which only helped slightly, but not eliminating the desertion. The only counter I have found to this is cheating the game, and bumping your leadership stat all the way to 10, and filling half of your inventory with different types of food, and then, the morale would stay at about Above Average-Average. But, I happen to hate using cheats, and the leadership stat increases the amount of troops you can have, basically removing half the challenge, and the purpose of buying ranks, and being promoted (a pretty damn cool feature might I add.)
So, all I'm asking is, is it possible to fix this in some sort of file, or in-game way, or is this just something I'm going to have to deal with for the time being?

You can use TweakMB to increase leadership effect on morale. Default is 12 morale gained for each point of leadership. You can change that to whatever you like.

Something else that seems to help is getting all types of different food for your army. If you need money, go to the nearest town and win a bare knuckle boxing match.
