is there any easy cheat i can input to keep my morale at 99?

i dont like the morale system too much...

There's no cheat, but if you desperately not want to bother with morale, you can simply edit scripts.txt to change how morale is calculated. The info regarding this hax is... let me look it up.

EDIT: Here.

Though, winning battles is an easy way to keep your morale up, even against small armies like looters or raiders. Have you tried that?

Hm. Keeping morale high has never been a problem to me. I don't need to think of it, it stays good with my style of playing. I do like to keep huge food supplies with me on my journeys, so that might be the reason for it.

I as well have no problem with keeping morale very high (above 90). I simply have 6 variations of food with me (need that anyways, so i dont constantly run out of food) and i have at least one battle every 2 days. The only times when my morale goes down to "high" or even "medium" is when i have a large army with me and recently lost a fight. Still, even in that case, my morale never goes down below medium/average.

I strongly suspect that you are simply playing the game the wrong way. It isn't difficult to keep morale at an acceptable level.

Haven't had a problem with morale yet. I always carry different kinds of food with me, and ale too. Of course, I battle every half a minute too.

Ale no longer gives a morale bonus, unless you've modded it back in.  :???:

I carry it around anyways. I guess I just love it too much.

I once suffered a bout of very bad morale when my faction spent many months in total peace with everyone. I couldn't find enough bandits to keep morale up! (also, I had quite some enmity among my companions, which must have contributed to everyone's bad feelings).

Add to this my tendency to recruit valuable prisoners into my army (my favourite way of garrisoning castles and towns), and you'll see how bad morale could be a problem, sometimes.

So thanks for the hack, I might give it a try.

So in other words, you were in the worst possible situation which could happen to morale. Question: When should morale be low if not in such a situation?

I don't know... We're at peace, why on earth would that be bad for morale? My troops get plenty of food and are paid just as much as while we're at war.

One word: "bored"

Plus maybe "socially incapable"

The historical and social background in which the game plays, and the people in your party aren't exactly "artists" or "intellectuals" - and certainly not the kind of folks which are able to get along with each other without a common goal (i.e. enemies). If there are no others to focus on, the focus returns to the relationship between each other - and it isn't exactly pretty.

Well put.  Plus, in battle your men get loot in addition to their measly wages.

Peace as well as a long bloody endless war is never good for the morale of professional armies, even in real life.

Here in Canada, when the government decided to go to Afghanistan, the army was celebrating. First occasion to actually go to a «real» war since Korea in the 50'.

Well, as soon as you're at peace with any other faction, just look for quests which will start a war, and morale will not be a problem anymore (that is, if these quests still exist in 1.X, I had no time to check).

Or, simply dont run around with a massive army in peace-time, and you will have no problems anymore catching bandits.

Morale is best maintained above average with daily fighting.  Having a large variety of food in your inventory helps but isn't enough by itself.  I get away with having only cabbage in my inventory and my morale is average or better.  I make sure that I always lead them in every charge since being behind them might get a little stinky!

Your troops want to fight more than eat.  Simply running around the map, or chasing an enemy that is barely slower than you are, or camping causes morale to drop.  Think of it as a tank of water with a hole at the bottom.  If you don't put any water into it then it will be empty after some time has passed.  Keep adding water often enough and the tank will stay nearly full.  So the best bet is to fight several times per day.

If you don't mind cheating, use the "Ctrl T" cheat which exposes all tracks and parties on the map.  Then you'll see where your next target is.  If you want to use a second cheat, use "Ctrl left-click" to get around much faster and catch those elusive Khergits and Steppe Bandits.

Careful though - some companions do not like fighting 24h for days. Doesn't matter though, since you do not need to fight all the time to keep morale up.... just dont let them get bored for days. Also worth mentioning: leadership can increase morale constantly - and not just a bit.... it can be way more than food. For example, my leadership skill of 6, gives 42+ to party morale!
