I came across a very... very odd problem.
I decided to start up the 1.158 Warband Module System folder again to edit some things for an experimental mod for Warband. I generally use Notepad++ to edit the files in the system, so I decided to do just that.
Now, normally when I enter the folder with the files, they have the Notepad++ icon, letting me know that the file is by default opened by that program. Now, however, it was a blank file. I tried to run it and it flashes the CMD for a split second on my screen. Now the blank thumbnails are replaced with the PYTHON icon, and every time I try to run THOSE, it just flashes the CMD and I get nothing. I also tried to edit my settings so that .py files would automatically open with Notepad++, but now it's not working. I can open Notepad fine, but I can't set it as a default program. I can SELECT IT, but I can't do anything.
This may require pictures to prove, so you can actually understand what I'm saying, but I deleted my Module System folder (After I heard the new Warband patch came out), and I am waiting for the next version. I'd like to re-download it, but by the time I'm done with whatever experiments I need to do, I won't be able to use them on the new version of Warband (Which I haven't downloaded yet, my game is still 1.15
.
I haven't tried deleting Notepad++ yet because as far as I know it's working fine. It's just that I can't set the program to run the .py files by default. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?
EDIT: Ok, so Morgh's Editor runs fine, but that's only for Troops, Parties and such. Notepad is what I'll really need, so is it a problem with the system or Notepad itself>
EDIT #2: Got a picture of what I'm seeing. On the recommended list, Notepad++ does not appear. It also does not appear in the "Other Programs" list (which I couldn't show all of, but you get the point). It is only by manually locating the folder that Notepad++.exe is in that I find it, but even when I double-click it, nothing happens. It does not select Notepad++. Changing this through Properties does not work either.
