Okay, I hope this is in the right place, sorry if it isn't. But anyways, I wanted to download a mod, and I found several that look really interesting. However, I've discovered several things. One, I believe it has to be compatible with the version of the game I'm running (1.011). Also, that you have to unzip the mod's files into Mount&Blade<Modules. Correct???
So when I found the Mount&Blade folder I was shocked that there was no Modules folder. Am I doing something wrong, or am I just missing something?
Ah, and also (no clue if this would affect it at all), I bought the game on Steam.

I got it off Steam and a Modules Folder came with it, are you sure you went into Steam Apps>Mount and Blade?

And ya you unzip them nto the modules folder, unless it is supposed to be an add-on to native, then you put it in Native, somewhere, i havent had much luck doing that though.

I've read it several times that at least some who got the game that way don't have a modules folder but I'm not sure what the solution was.
Either you create a module folder in your M&B folder and unpack the mod there. Each mod has it's separate folder in the module folder. If that does not work you could search for "Steam" and "module", it should give some results.

Hmm... Well I've searched my comp. and there's no folder called Steam Apps... However, there is one: Windows>Start Menu>Programs>Steam and it lists Mount&Blade and Steam but they're just the shortcuts for the two. Also there is a folder called Mount&Blade, Mount&Blade Savegames, and Native. No Modules though. I've even tried searching Modules but nothing comes up.  :???:

[edit] Maybe... Can you tell me exactly how you get to your Mount&Blade folder from the Computer button in the Start Menu? Maybe I'm just missing something obvious.

I only have the description from here.
But if you have shortcuts can't you look at the attributes (right click) of the shortcuts and see there they are pointing?

As I get mine another way (download some years ago) and did several installations by hand I never had this problem...

Argh... My guess is Steam or Vista likes messing with me. Hmph. I kind of want to give up now, but I really want to check out some of the mods.
I've looked everywhere, and all I can find are shortcuts for the game and my save game files. There was the Mount&Blade folder but nothing in it but the shortcut and uninstall button.

Native is the "official module". Normally it should be in the modules folder. Try placing your mod in the same place as the Native folder and see what happens.

i have M&B thru steam also .  C drive to program files, to steam to steammaps to common to M&B to modules. i have native & 1257ad & PoP & LaR & the eagles &  the wolves & exspanded gameplay 3.  hope that helps

I have bought Mount and Blade through Steam and there was a Modules folder. This is the path I used to get to it.

X:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\mount and blade\Modules

As stated before Native in itself is considered a Module, because you have to select it from the Mod drop-down box when you start up the game.
