Mods vs Patches, we have to choose.

Unfortunately the game is at a point where we have to choose the most current version or mods, it is completely impossible to use Mods in the most current version of the game, so the modders aren't motivated to constantly change their work,it means that in long run it will kill, or at least will reduce the moding scene, In addition, it is extremely frustrating for users, having to install several Mods or files for a simple mod to work.
I think it is time for TW to close the beta and launch the game officially, you can add content normally as everyone does, through normal patches. After all, there isn't even much more content that they are planning for the game.

I do not strongly agree with you. Beta branch is very necessary because you need somewhere to test innovations in the game . If you want to play with mods, play on the main branch , but on an older version of the game .

Hey it seems like you u derstood what he said but I could not it's clear english isn't his first language but since you understood could you tell what OP is writing about

Ok, i am curious, how would it change the development of Mods if you release the game now? EA is only a label and when we get new patches without the EA-label at the same pace the mods would not work better only because we call it something else.
And to the point that there is not much more content to come. When they stay with their statement that they want to add scened for all locations in the game you have only there already a massive amount of new content that has to be tested.
Not to mention all teh balancing and other new staff that they have planed see here
I think most modders should understand what it means to create mods for a game that is still in development and when they dont understand it and get bored it is no problem of the devs but of the people who can't wait for a finished game.

For me what OP described is the way it should be. It takes time to make mods or update one. Since the game isn't final and released yet, think of the mods available now as practice so modders knows how to add thigns to the game once it's released.

Release a broken game so you can have your mods? EA stands for early access not Electronic Arts...

The thing is from what I understood he wants them to make patches at the same pace still but release the game from EA since apparently when the game is not in EA all the mods get magically fixed

Ahhh, why didn't anybody think of this before? Shame on you, TW!

(Thanks for clarifying)

Man, you guys are joking but people were legitimately getting mad at TW for patching too much and constantly breaking their favorite mods a few months back.

And then the monkey paw's twisted.

No u don't understand, when I talked about patching the game, I wanted to say precisely the opposite, take more time but release something with relevance.Eventually the beta phase will have to end, the sonner the better, and basically what I meant is that I fear that some Modders will give up on the game.

So releasing from EA changes the update schedule?

I can't even fathom that anyone would prioritize mods vs patches in any case.
And it's just completely nonsensical when it's about EARLY ACCESS. Early access's entire point is to finish the game. It's absolute priority.

If modders don't want to update their mods as needed that's on them. If you want to play with a modded game then play an older version. Getting rid of the beta branch would set back development even worse than it is. It's designed so that we can test stuff not so you can have the game the way you want. If ea isn't for you then wait till the full release. Threads like this are nonsense and I hope TW completely ignores this kind of request.

Patches first. The sooner the game is done, the sooner mods can go back to updating right.

If you want mods, play on stable patches.

Wait what!? Are you saying that you think they should leave EA and release the game!? Plz remove this thread and dont give anyone at TW any ideas. I personaly hope the game stays in EA longer then they first had planned.

I mean you can simply chose to stay on a older version of the game, you dont have to update.

This is a deliberate strategy by Taleworlds to cull the modders as there are too many of them. Only the most persistent will survive and later tell their grandchildren how they survived during the betas.
