Mods to Expect?

What kinds of mods should we expect to see from WFAS?

I know that nothing is in development yet obviously but do we know how many teams are planning mods and what those plans are?

Well, there's the obvious fixes and improvements like being able to choose a female character. There might be someone or other who will try to make a storyline for Sweden or the Khanate. Then a couple odd people who will insist machine guns are historically accurate and make a mod for those. Finally, just when things are finally nearing perfection TaleWorlds will probably do something like make a Mount&Blade: Legions or something like that where the entire WORLD is in play.

I'd bet on WF&S expansion xP like Native Expansion, and then some graphical/sound mods imported or improved. Then some renaissance mods cause of the fitting items.

And let's not forget a map expansion mod that would bring the Austrians and the Ottomans into the fray.

=D might as well include the rest of the mongol empire lolol. And then heck just might as well add the world with sea battles

Re-create a Kingdom / Republic

Prussia (Kingdom)
Finland (Kingdom)
Livonian Confederation (Republic)
Kurland (Monarchial version of Livonian Confederation)
Novgorod (Republic)
Kyviv Rus (Kingdom; as opposed to the Republican Cossacks)
Polotsk (Belarus Republic)

List over

Imagine a modification (or an expansion) which allows the player a degree of free-form (similiar to Warband) to create their own Kingdom and Republic; albeit within historical limit (i.e. no 'Smurf Kingdom of Greater Mazowia').
No pretenders but you have to search for a 'historian' in a Tavern and assert claim over this Kingdom and seize a castle in that region's historical territory.

Once doing so, NPCs claiming descendence from the nobles / plutocrats of these former states will offer their service to you.

1.  Find Historian
2.  Learn about the 'historical' Kingdom or Republic
3.  Tell the historian 'I wish to claim succession and/or become pretender of XXX'
4.  Capture castle / city of that former state.
5.  Establish Kingdom and Republic
6.  20 Nobles / Plutocrats; claiming to be disposessed descendence of former statesmen of those former kingdoms / republics,  will pledge their allegiance to you.

Mainly merging warband tech into it - including

- centralized economy
- working merc status
- fixed ai priorities
- warband endgame (vassals as independent)

personally I intend to add some stuff from bandit king, and things I intended to put in BK such as

- recruitment from criminals (if you are a criminal)
- criminal actions
- dread (the opposite of honor)
- executing prisoners, nobles
- conscription
- sacking and raiding cities (like villages, but plump full of rape and pillage)
- soft cap army size (manage morale and cohesion rather than a set limit)

It's good to be bad.

I think we can aslo expect a sound improvement mod, seeing that there already is a gun sounds mod out.

Im working on a small improvement mod, mostly replacing the musket sounds, adding Heavy Hooves, and as a longer plan to replace all City scenes to look like actual citys, not some villages with huge walls around them.

I think Ill make a thread for it sometime soon. If youre interested in helping/suggestions, do PM me.

Damn you ... you have me salivating, you dog! *lawlz*

As with others, major wish list items is bringing back MARRIAGE (feasts mebbe?) and PLAYER-Kingdom.

Also, I'm not against Austria and Ottoman Empire added to the map, with perhaps Hungary, maaaybe Germany, but not farther west, more Eastern European kingdoms like Bulgaria and such.

I am not eager to play the mods for this game, because they are gonna be inferior to the warband mod concepts.
Think about it, it's warband, but with less features, and a new setting, a setting which no original story concept can be drawn from. The best i could expect is a good multiplayer mod i guess.
But i suppose the old features and even new ones could be added in future modules, although it will be very bland on the modding side, since it has nothing new to play with.
The only way a revolutionary mod could come from this is if a modder gets newfound inspiration and motivation from the actual release.

I would hope for something like the Expanded Gameplay III module for the original M&B. Better attack animations, the ability to pick a "class", balanced weaponry... that would be great.
