Best model resource for M&B. Top notch quality by top notch modellers. Nuff said.

M&B: Surcoat by Eisenhouwer. Looks like a great source for textures; looks like he's picked red for Swadians which means compatibility for us so far. Still under development;

Some look good, some look way too shiny for us, use your discretion. In general I'd say they're pretty good; problem is that his shiny mail might not match up with the other shiny mail we already have, so using this might involving a bit of cut-and-paste over a bunch of our existing textures.

Oh.. I`m really new at texturing .. so don`t be too rude

I can't mod at all Selvhan but I can appreciate your concept is very good. A bit, or a lot, more work and people will be asking your work for their mods. I specialy like what you've done to the black armor.

Alright , no more Jester ( power Ranger suit  )

Go take a look at the post i made under this one for better armor

Good stuff Selvhan, you're coming along nicely!
Did you alter the shine of the chain/helmet or is it just a screenshot-thing?
Maybe try to change the gray bits of the coat of plates to a more contrasting colour,
or import a nice texture to cover those bits? Grey doesn't compliment the armour enough IMO.

a little teaser on some khergit and dark armours

Nicely done, although... red and black color scheme for the evil guys? That's so cliche.

I'm inclined to agree Erwin, if you have any good suggestions I'm more than willing to listen!
They are the dark faction though, so I guess they must be shrouded in some sort of darkness

What of the more multicoloured Khergits? Any views on those?

Zathan

Well, I'd just get rid of the red. I do like how you made them deep browns and greys rather than straight black, though. That's nice. Come to think of it, how about making the dark guys wear normal clothing but with some distinctive black feature? I mean, cult members generally aren't very rich because the cult takes their money away, right? So they could hardly afford to have all their clothes dyed black. They'd probably just wear their normal stuff and add black scarves or sashes or somesuch as a token of membership.

As for the Kergits, that purple one really hurts my eyes. Desaturate a bit, please. Other than that they look very good, especially the yellow one. You could make them look even better by maybe adding some sort of seam around the edges of the coats to break up the flat look a little, like the original has -> http://ourworld.cs.com/Carledwards15/seige.jpg

I appreciate the feedback Erwin.
The red will go. I'll replace with suitable dark textures and maybe add borders already on the armour.
About 'normal clothing with some distinctive black feature', I think for now, no. If you have an sample suitable symbol, please post it.
Adding such a symbol isn't that easy when we're talking multiple armour-types, at least with my level of experience.

The purple Khergit surcoat will be toned down a little, as others also has suggested it's a bit much. A shame, since I think it's the best looking of them all.
I'll add borders as per the existing khergit armours, thanks for that suggestion! I'm sure this will make them look more finished.

Regarding the strong colouring of the Khergits; most drawings and pictures often show the nomadic Mongols as being dressed in colourful garb.
My intention is therefore to let the Khergits use all sorts of strong and vibrant colours for their armour, while the other factions get a smaller range of shades + a distinct colour for their armour.

Other suggestions for specific armours / textures are welcome.

Thanks,
Zathan

(I think I better create a new thread for these issues!)

I think the Khergit surcoat looks a bit weird, because the shape is totally western. Kindof like painting a pair of western sneakers to look like Japanese tabi. It almost works but I think you need more detail in there to suggest an eastern influence.

Also I've tried to avoid using lots of mail on the Khergit (although there is some). They prefer lamellar, scale and partial plate pieces. So you might want to redo the arms and legs.

Yeah, I know, I had the same thought after having put them together.
I'll do a batch based on the original khergit guard armour.

Actually those surcoats gave me the impression of sarracen armor. Change the piked helmet for a turban, replace mail boots for leather ones and that guy might as well be a faris. I agree there may be too much mail on the arms for the usual muslim standard but it wasn't unherad of either.
Anyway, great work. I like the potential it gives to versatility.
